Thanks. Prices vary between €100 and €400 depending on condition. Mine cost €170 attached to a Bullseye camera, but it's not the best condition, I'm planning on buying a mint copy later.
Kipon are the only ones who make an adapter for CTX, and it's pretty expensive, about €90 I belive.
i've always been curious about contarex lenses, particularly the 85/2, 35/2, and the 50 you have, though i tend to only see collector prices. how precise is aperture control on the adapter?
On a related note, the ZM 35 seems to have pretty severe purple corners on the NEX-7, but the G 35 does not. Not sure about other differences between the two, but I really like the G 35 at f/5.6-f/8. A touch of softness on the edges, but very sharp and contrasty everywhere else...

rioni: totally agree, very nice colors. Great shots and congrats to your 5N combo. One of the few G's I havent tried is the 35/2. I wonder how it stands against the ZM version.
I tested both the Contax G 45/2 and ZM 35/2 and decided to stay with the ZM. The image quality/sharpness is about the same on both but the images seem to have more "pop" on the ZM. I also prefer the focus and focal length of the 35/2 ZM over the G 45/2.

Thank you for the IKEA show, it takes a brave man to snatch those images a Sunday!
A question, I see no aperture irng on that Zeiss Contarex lens. Out of curiosity, are you shooting everything wide open or is there a way to control all those blades?

I've not used these lenses on the NEX-7, but I have on the 5 and 5N, and my general impressions are that the corner sharpness is in this order, from worst to best: Contax G35, Zm 35/2.8, and Zm 35/2, They all seem to be sharper at the edges on the 5N compared to the 5. That being said, the two ZM lenses actually show more color shift than the Contax G, and the Contax G is still a pretty good lens. I have no idea about on the 7, though.
This thread is now moving so fast so some veteran should really start to split it up - a NEX/Zeiss thread could be a start. I'd follow them all still - but my mind would get it a bit more sorted :-)
Another Contax G 21 from a pretty gray today. Still love the detailing. Perspective corrected but not cropped.

The lack of an aperture ring is probobly why CTX lenses haven't been very popular as alts. The Kipon adapter has an aperture ring, and I belive MFT and NEX are the only digital bodies that can use these lenses. The f-stops "clicks" in to postition, but you can actually set the aperture between f-stops if you like. It's a very high quality adapter.
On a side note, my only other CTX lens, the 115 tessar, has its own aperture ring. I don't know about other CTX lenses.
Edit: This might be of interest, This page has some scans of original hand drawn Zeiss MTF-charts for some Contarex lenses. The planar is looking pretty darn great.

Thoughts? Which do you prefer? I'm leaning towards the CV shot. (...)
That's tricky; the DOF is wider in the CV image and that helps. There is also no CornerFix applied, right? The magenta cast helps again. Or the possible cast i should say but judging by the colour of the frass in the corners I suspect there is some, in this case making the flowers more vibrant.
That said, I recently bought the CV15/4.5 and I'm happy with the initial results.

Jonas, you are correct, no corner fix was applied. I think perhaps the vignetting (not sure it's magenta) might make the picture more interesting.

I had about 5 lenses with me, but for whatever reason, none could match this one--though the elmarit 28 also did well. Not much PP, just thunderstorms and forest fires A bunch of controlled burns--and some sharp fall light.
