No, I did some PP of the raw files in Lightroom... jpg? do they really look that awful?
I asked because i'm under the impression that jpgs have nicer colors than my raw-files plus the fullsize files did look somehow jpgish
@Charlie - Love the last one. Again with the 400! Both of the recent shots you posted from it have a very nice rendering. I want to see more from this lens!
@Briantho - Great set! It's hard for me to pick a favorite. Are the Contarex 50 Planar and ZM 50 Planar the same optical design, or similar?
@Phillip - Great set! The frozen pond is beautiful.
@Bob - Wonderful colors. I've always wanted to photograph a hot air balloon event...

I double checked, and you are right... I just assumed I was editing raw files, but I was shooting some HDR inbetween shots, and then forgot to set it back to raw (I hate that with the NEX). So some of the images are indeed shot jpg. You really have sharp eyes, I'm impressed.
I also added way too much noise reduction in post, but I adjusted my template now.
My first try ever at a stitched panorama. Used 22 images for this with the Contarex Planar 50mm f2. Hand held, and very sloppy... I'm a little surprised at how easy you can get pretty good results. Photoshop did all the work
Douglas thanks for the advice. Darn, I can hardly see it. Need to go BW.
Yeah, to each his own. I may be particularly sensitive to it, or something. The difference in the color of the bricks in the street in the center of the pic compared to the edges is pretty striking, to me, but, hey, if it doesn't bother you, it doesn't bother me.
well, to my mind wfranks shots put the lie to all the handwringing about wide corners. I don't notice the colorshift either--I need overcast skies I guess.
The center sharpness is nothing short of spectacular. I shudder to think of those who have been put off this lens by the peeping.
love that snag, sebboh
wicked stitch there briantho--i might even have to try it!
for those who liked some of the 400 shots, i'd just mention that doublet is a steal at around 350USD--I got mine in the box with stock from keh for even less.
Nice photos Charlie. I was thinking today that I might sell my 5D and 35L (emphasis on "might") and will probably snag a 35/1.2 if I do... it's fun to think about anyway. I probably won't do it though
If you happen to come across another 400/6.8 for ~$350 USD please do let me know, especially with that wicked stock!
Here are a couple more from my Pt. Reyes series. Both with the CV 15. Cornerfix didn't work too well on these, I'm not sure why. The first is a stitch of 2 vertical shots... almost looks like a fisheye!
Jacob D, your Pt Reyes set is just awesome, amazing !
Bob, glad you like your 5N! Obviously it agrees with you, and you rekindle my love for the 35C even though I have a 35 f/2,0 on order. Niiiiiiiice!
Briantho, your set rocks!
Wilhelm, you are proving that this copy of the G21 is an amazing piece of glass, except that I couldn't make it work for me, and you can! Respect!

I don't want to dwell on this too much, but, I'm surprised that the difference in color between the center of the brick road and the right edge of the brick road doesn't jump out at you on Wilhelm's first shot. Nothing a little CornerFix wouldn't solve. Is everyone's monitor properly calibrated? I just calibrated mine a few weeks ago, but maybe mine needs a new profile or something?
Doug, pretty obvious when shown like that. I think though that vibrance helped a bit too - and slight vignetting (natural, not imposed). Vibrance can make (full) G28 images look very magenta (particularly in gray areas). I seldom see that before people tell me as I normally use vibrance as in this case to lift a pale colored facade, not noticing what it does to gray. Dont know if this is a Zeiss phenomenon or if it's general.
Jacob, excellent images again. You make me really want a CV15 or 12, but cannot decide which. Have the very good (and very huge) Samyang 15, which kind of keeps me from picking the 15 directly. Your #1 makes one wanna stretch out to grab some of the near-by grabble.
Philippe, much obliged. It has some cons that sometimes need workarounds, but its pros are better than expected!
