Got tired of waiting for my NEX-7 order so I picked up a 5n last night, really impressed so far with what this little camera can do. Now I need to find a 49mm ND for the kit lens
Candid photography isn't too popular with the NEX set - despite that, here are the remainder of my unposted 50 Cron shots, all wide open or close to it:
@McGrattan - congrats on the 5N I think the location and your comp in #2 would be awesome with for a longer exposure! Hope you're re-shoot that one when you get your ND filter.
@Michelle - great people shots. Looks like you're liking the G glass quite a bit. I must ask though, what the heck is going on in town with these outfits??
Here are a few more from my recent trip to Pt. Reyes. Forest shots this time. 5N, ISO 400. All with CV 35/2.5 except last which is CV 90.

Love the shots of your dogs and the fall video. Curious, what breed of dogs are they, very cute (and active)?
Alan
Thanks Alan, I’m delighted to hear you like them. The dogs are Bouvier des Flandres from old French working lines. Over here, (and elsewhere too) they are primarily bred for dog shows, and they get increasingly large, hairy and lethargic. The working lines are very active and highly intelligent, and full of spirit, which makes them delightful companions. Here is the guy (Cody) in the top photo in January and June - hopefully the photos convey a bit of the joy and enthusiasm they have for life.

@Bill - Your dogs are awesome. They seem to have plenty of energy! Love the action photos. Were these manually focused? If so, care to share any tips on how to nail them so well?
@Bob - Great cityscape with the 5N. The atmosphere you captured is very good.

Moving from the NEX-5 to the 5N reinvigorated me to use this system. I'm playing with shooting from the hip while walking to (dawn) and from (dusk) work in the morning. I tried auto-iso with the kit lens in the morning and didn't like the result so this evening, I set the camera to ISO 1600 and shot with the Zeiss Biogon C 35mm/2.8 at f/2.8 with a focus distance set to about six feet. Purely experimental and fun.
It's kind of amazing how much difference a year or so makes - the 5N's sensor is really impressive. Don't be afraid to use shutter priority and let ISO float.
Got a very unusual lens yesterday -- the MS Perar 35mm f3.5 Triplet. A handmade, limited edition, m-mount, three element lens. It's about the size & weight of a lens cap.
Some pictures from today. Really cold in Sweden now, brrr... This is from Vallentuna Kyrka outside Stockholm. All taken with the Contarex Planar 50mm f2 on 5N.
