Thanks, Charles. Nice shot. I would imagine that your lens doesn't get all the way to its minimum focus distance because your adapter focuses past infinity, no? If you're able to shim the adapter, or get one that nails infinity, your mfd should be back to normal.
I've owned Metabones, Voigtlander, and some cheapie ones, and I can whole heartedly recommend the Hawks helicoid adapter, if you feel like dropping the money on it. Mine nails infinity with my lenses, and it'll cut your mfd down to around half, which is very nice. Granted, if you have lenses with a floating element, I'm not sure how they'd perform when using the helicoid.
First contribution to this thread - with the ZM 18. The dynamic range of this camera is really extraordinary - the pictures below are all individual RAWs processed a bit in LR). I will report this to the "wide angle with trepidation thread," but this lens is wonderful at every aperture (the following shot between f/4 and f/8):

What would you guys recommend for landscape work in either a 21, 24, 25, or 28mm lens? Small and light are important factors for me.
Do you have 5n?
If so CV 21, 25, and esp 28 skopar are real good. Smallest too. The 28/3.5 is hard to find but just outstanding.
On the older nex-5 they will shift colors.
The leica 28/2.8 elmarit is quite good also.
Larger and faster are the Canon nfd 20/2.8 and 24/2, and the nikon 28/2 AI or AIS. These are three superb SLR lenses. I'm sure there are others quite good as well.
I do have the 5N, and I don't necessarily mind if there is some color shift as long as I can cornerfix it. I had looked at a couple of those CV lenses, but thought that I read they had some edge/corner softness issues (?).
The Leica would be nice if I could afford a M mount, the R mount is slightly more reasonable but I'm really aiming for something compact as possible here (SLR lenses would be out).

I honestly doubt you would be disappointed, and they are very easy to resell if you don't like them for any reason. I don't have the 25, but have seen many nice shots from it.
Hi all, is it possible to use MF lenses (let say zeiss zf.2) on nex with a non-confirmation adapter in Aperture mode ? or we can use it only in M mode as dslr ? I know that nex has peak indicator which is very helpful in manual focusing, I just don't really know if I can use MF lenses in A mode to have shutter speed controlled by the body. Many thanks

Yes you definitely can and quite accurate also. Just dial your aperture manually and shoot, the NEX will take care of the rest, provided you have pre-select your metering mode and ISO/auto ISO and wide balance/auto wide balance.

Took my new CV12 out for its first hike today. Next week it goes to Death Valley.
Jay, I like that last one. The Heliar looks like a fun ultrawide on the NEX. Are those shot on a 5N?

here is the 21: not a landscape but you get the idea
I do have the CV 40/1.4 and 75/1.8 and I find them nice for people with that classic rendering, but I want something more technical for the landscapes. After you mentioned the CV 21 I went back to the beginning of the thread and came across some other shots of yours taken with it. It does look like a pretty nice lens for landscape. I'm trying to find some Biogon samples to compare against. I wish FM had a thread search tool (or does it??).

Agreed, and when the light gets low I usually switch to Shutter priority mode and auto ISO and set a comfortable shutter speed for hand-held shots - works perfectly.
