awesome! contax 35/1.4 again? you can drop a larger version in the pano-mania thread for us to ogle if your ok with having larger versions unprotected on the ole interwebs.
Really like the bike frezeiss, understand your weariness when you do so well with the ZM 35
And dont forget that the ZM focus ring is superior - a weak spot for the otherwise excellent Contax G's. Not that it has stopped me from getting other G's though.
Lovely shots, frezeiss, the first one in particular. But either you introduced some PP, or your first shot shows colour shift, which it shouldn't. I had a ZM 35C with my NEX 5, and never saw colour shift, neither did I with other 35s. So, what gives?
Hi Frank,
Thanks for the kind words. Yes the ZM has superrior MF ring, I had a G 90 once and sold it because 90 mm was just too long to hand hold properly on the NEX (for me) and the Metabones adapter was to iffy. I regretted the decision till today, I should've tried Kipon or other adapters first before selling the lens. You do get a lot for 200 USD, but not 100 MP level
Please do post more from the G 28.
Thanks Philipe, as a matter of fact this is my first timer also seeing that color shift..Yes, I might have played a bit with the levels and vibrance but I didn't do any more fancy editing. I hope my new 5N will fix the dreaded corner softness and (the new to me) color shift when it arrived tomorrow
Congrats on your new camera, frezeiss! I hope you love it as much as many of us here. It definitely should improve corner performance compared to your 3, but it still does not explain why your 3 and ZM 35C displayed colour shift...
Thanks hooligan. What I meant is that on a 1.5 APS-C sensor it becomes (almost) a normal lens. As you write 42mm. Me myself have always found 50mm to be a bit narrow to how I experience my eyes' way of looking at things. 42 or 45 fits me more calling it normal. Maybe I am a bit wideangled who knows
frezeiss, so happy to supply on your request :-). Todays catch I'm afraid lack basic artistic values but they show a bit of performance of the G 28. Two shots @ 2.8 (always handheld). Crops below.

Two more BWs from today with the Contax B 28/2.8. It is very sharp and one thing I like about 28mm is that it is "what you see", no more no less. I like that
michael49, That last one is exquisite. The waves blurring the reflection of the fall colors onto the lake makes it look like a pastel painting of the sharp capture on the shore. Fabulous.

Thanks. When those ducks swam into the scene I knew I had my shot.

Michael,
These two shots with the FD glass are real nice!
Especially the panorama. Is that taken in sweep mode or individual frames?
JayT
Thanks; individual frames - taken hand-held, stitched using Hugin.
Michael, lots of beauty captured in your shots, wonderful colors!

Now I really hate you
what is the MFD on the 28?
Good to hear MFD is 0.5m. A new beauty arrived today, the 45/2. I probably overpay these, but it is in absolutely mint condition - and shares the same MFD. Given your question I had to check, and in reality the MFD for the 28/2.8 it's 39cm and 47 for the 45/2 (to the film/sensor plane). I wonder what that means when it comes to actual focal length, longer or shorter (?).
The G 90 that you used to have has a MFD of 1 m. As I've heard these designs (due to the rangefinder origin) have a bit worse MFD than the non-RF counterparts simply because there was no way of focusing closer with the parallel optical viewfinder these cameras used. I need a G 90 now :-)
