some shots with the Rokkor 58 1.2. Question for you guys with this lens...my copy is very soft wide open, is that normal? I have seen several shots posted by this lens wide open that seemed sharp and my copy is VERY soft. However, at f/2 it does clean up quite nicely, but I bought it for f/1.2 use, not f/2
the lens is not particularly sharp wide open on high pixel density sensors (croppers), if you put it on a 12mp FF camera or film it will look pretty sharp wide open though. as you would expect, there is a fair bit of sample variation. i'd have to see a 100% crop to say whether yours was unusually soft.

great shot, it really leaves me wanting to see a bit more of the road and foreground though (i know exact framing is difficult with stitches).
Thank you guys, I completely agree with the comment, but it was a struggle for me...
I really wanted to show as much open space as possible vs those great clouds
and more foreground/road I was keeping, the space seemed smaller.
I will look into another version with more road, thanks for a constructive ideas guys!
Contax Zeiss C/Y 28mm f2 "Hollywood", shot at f/2. Just got the lens from a fellow FM'er so these first snaps are pretty prosaic. Don't recall seeing any shots from this lens on the thread so thought I would post 'em anyway.
I'm seeing some strange vignetting with a 5n and ZM 35 2.8. It is worst when stopped down, but It doesn't show up all of the time, and it doesn't seem symmetrical - any ideas?

Maybe it needs a bit more sharpening
Good point.
I did capture sharpening on the processed file with Photokit Sharpener II, but did not do Output sharpening.
I printed a 10" long version of the image with output sharpening and under the loupe all the boat names look very detailed, so maybe that's it.
On my next photo when I reduce to jpeg, I'll try one with web output sharpening and one without to see if it makes a difference. I'd try it now, but I'm flying out to Michigan in the morning and rushing around trying to pack.
I must say that it is a little intimidating posting a photo after Snowboarder's last image.
