Thanks, this is good to know! I assumed that this Arsat lens is only the shift one which is shown by Peire in the post above. Yes, I found pics of this lens online. Where did you get your lens(es) from? Checking online, I saw that this kind or Arsat/Arax lens is currently not available.
Oh, and I received my second copy of this lens as recently as two weeks ago. (Note to self - maybe Hartbleis bounce off concrete, but Arsats don't :-( )
Nikon made 2 different PC (Perspective control) lenses back in manual focus era in 35mm and 28mm flavors.
The 28mm f/4 and f/3.5 range in price between upper $200s to lower $600s.
The 35 f/2.8 ranges in price between upper $100s to lower $400s (depending on age).
There's an arsat 80 f/2.8 tilt/shift lens in the mid-$300s. Reports on the internet suggest that its optics are OK, with some softness at wider apertures. Here's a review (in non-english) with pictures that show performance at various apertures: link
I've, personally, been considering a Pentacon 6 lens and the Arsat/Arax tilt adapter. Namely, a CZ Jena 50 f/4 or CZ Jena 80 f/2.8. I just haven't taken the plunge because of the holidays (and my own, recent, purchases)

Thanks for the link! Including the $60 for shipping and handling, the price comes fairly close to a used Canon T/S lens, version I. Looks like they realized that their Arsat T/S lenses are the only suitable alternative to the higher priced Canon/Nikon ones. Formerly on older websites the Arsat lenses were offered for much less when Hartblei T/S lenses were still independent from Zeiss!

Yeps, the arsat 80 f2.8 T/S lens existed to this price formerly.....now you can't get it for this price anymore! The weblink given by johntodd above is the most actual so far I have seen to purchase it directly as new copy. The lens more than doubled in price....
hmm, this is an interesting post. Do you guys know how good the ARSAT(Arax/Photex) 35 2.8 . Could any of you that actually have owned (or do own) this lens post some material. Preferably on a Nikon FF but any images and I'm glad!

is the f/4 more highly regarded in general as a better performer?

I checked ebay right before I made my post. Buy it now prices were at $370 for Arsat 80mm f/2.8 T/S lenses.

I think the f/3.5 is thought of as better/sharper (albeit to a small degree). Bear in mind that the f/3.5 is also newer, so in all likelihood improved upon the design of the f/4 version. Also, note that Nikon PC lenses are shift only. They don't have tilt functionality.
