Off-center is good. Blurry background is right. The guy looks like he's scratching his right ear or ?
Fluff: my experience says direct sunlight is a little harsh for such flower pix; a diffuser (cloth or something) really softens and mellows out the contrast.
You really have sharp details on the meaningful bits.
The only other comment I have is that you might want to find a more 'perfect' model... this guy is a little flacid. (maybe it was windy?)

I believe this flower is supposed to be "limp", but maybe not quite this much (bearded iris??). For me the flipped up petal adds an interesting feel, as if it's scratching its head.
The comp looks fine but I'd have to agree with Jim on the harshness.
The composition is pretty good here, you might consider a vertical shot as well.
The lighting suggestion is right on the money - use a diffuser of some sort to soften the direct light and kill the hard shadows.
