Took a couple of shots out the back door with my new 7D and 800..

First is full frame, nothing done except comverting it to jpeg.

Second is cropped from the first image.

you should first take a shot with a 10-22 then with the 800 and everyone can guess where the bird is.

Great shot, looks like a nice combo.

I didn't notice the obvious subject at first and thought it was the bird in the background with the foilage blocking his face. I was going to say, wtf? lol.

The image looks rather harsh, but there are artifacts from jpeg compression. The combo surely allows the most reach around in a modern system.

Looks like the shot was underexposed and boosted in PP. I'm guessing that's the noise exacerbated by the high JPG compression.

If you sneak up a little bit a 70-200 F4 will also take a great shot and the bird won't look so aggravated due to the lens size difference...
