p.1 #1 · Tamron AF 60mm f/2.0 SP DI II LD IF 1:1 Macro

I purchased this lens Thursday morning and it arrived on Friday (Thanks Amazon) , I originally wanted the 60 AFS Micro , but didn't think it was worth the extra money. The Tamron may not be built as well , but it seams fairly solid and not to heavy.

Tell me what you think , all photos are handheld on a very dark cloudy Sunday morning in Austin.

I've heard good things about this lens and your shots are great.

I'd be interested to see how it works for people on dx.

I think it looks a lot like the 90mm Tamron macro Which is to say excellent.

I am looking forward to shooting a few portraits with this lens , it balances well on my D90 and I love the contrast and bokeh. I have used the Sigma 50mm 2.8 Macro as my primary lens for years , this will be its replacement.

I have the Sigma 50 macro too and I love it. What is it that's made you replace it?

Here's a few from the Sigma 50 macro from a very grey and drab day this afternoon:

Great Shots !!! I love the Sigma, just wanted to try something different. The Tamron has a little better working distance and the barrel doesn't extend during macro. Also, the focusing motor is a welcome change, although not as fast as some of my AFS lenses... just wanted to try something new, update a bit. Image quality wise, I have a hard time telling a difference between the two, both are razor sharp and have great contrast, color, and bokeh. I've always enjoyed purchasing the lower end lenses and seeing what they can do, I love Nikon, and you get what you pay for, but I think alot of the less popular lenses are really stellar performers.

Here's one from the Sigma

The Tamron is definitely a keeper. Preferred the 90mm for portraits though. Lovely shots.

Cheers

Nice pics... This shows again that Tamron has excellent products at a very reasonable price. They are the best third party manufacturer as far as I am concerned (price/quality ratio).
