people are complaining about the lengthy waiting time for the 35 1.4g nikkor....

Do people really forget that quickly?? Remember when the sigma 85 was announced?? now THAT took a long time..

Some quick and dirty test shots from around the house. Most, ISO1600 f/1.4 and run through LR3. The car was at 2.8, 2, 1.8 and 1.4.

I have a few winter weddings, I need to see if my local shop will be getting one of these in. I was going to wait, but honestly, I see no need to buy my wife expensive Christmas presents, if I can get this instead. She will understand, won't she? This will complete me.

Dont do it. I tried buying my girlfriend a "gift" lens last year and I'm still paying for it, figuratively speaking...

got mine yesturday
here is two shot shoot with fairly high iso~~ pretty happy with the sharpness in general but the af speed is a little slow compare with the 35L i had a while ago

Grays (London) called this morning and mine is in. They got 2 copies and they're still like gold-dust here. A friend of mine also ordered from a Nikon Pro dealer the same day as me (ie. the day it was announced) and they've had nothing.

Sadly I was en-route to what turned out to be the worst lit venue I've yet to shoot at and could really have used this lens today! I'll be popping up to London on Monday to collect it.

how about some links to full size picks.
I can shrink a little Olympus P&S camera shot to this size, and make it look incredible.
Would like some full size shots to judge a little. (sharpness, cornering, moire, distortion, etc.)
