Thanx, Michael... I am not a big fan of conventional BIF either. That's why I spend much more effort in looking for nice/interesting background than on shooting the bird proper.

I already have one of PetKal's framed, this one would make a great companion.
Thank you, Outlawyer, I feel honoured.
However, I've been told that Mike aka Tanglefoot, apparently has about half a dozen of my pijun pictures adorning his bedroom.
Here are three more fall colour backgrounds done with 1DMkIIN + 100-400.
The fourth one was with 500 f/4 + 1.4xTC.

I tend to prefer the Dawn dishsoap, the Armor All, and the Windex cleaner test shots to frame and hang in my living room for display!!! Thanks Peter...

You crack me up but I must admit if I were to frame a pijun shot and have it hanging in my room it would be one of yours, you are the master
Did I ever tell you I have raised pijun's? as a kid and several times as an adult
Guess I should have cooked up a couple of them I did have a nice black roller that I was warned was stupid and will roll to the ground. Well you guessed it it rolled to the ground and killed it so I guess I should have cooked that bird
Hey here's a challenge for you let me see you shoot a roller doing his thing and if you nail that one you are the master

Actually my friend Tulalip is not a town or even a city it's an Indian reservation and when I moved here in the on the early 80's and before the Casino the Rez was the laughing stock around here but now that the tribe (band Canadian language) has money the good citizens around here take notice we are no longer a slum. Sorry to get political but I have been here a long time and I have seen how the tribe has looked down upon

Gotcha.
There must be lottsa coniferous forests on the Rez........plenty of wildlife to shoot, I guess.
Lotsa woods but don't see much wildlife except possums, Coyotes, Raccoons once in while deer but the tribe just released 150 wild turkey's so I am sure we will have a ton of them in no time. I am still looking for the Cougar though they are around here
