I was driving home last night and saw this in my rear view mirror. It inspired me to pull over and grab some shots. Nature has always been my inspiration.

Thank you Jane! I am lucky indeed! There was another guy driving the other way and I saw him jump out and set up his tripod. It was a beautiful thing to see!
My wife and I were curious how much, if any, retouching was needed as that looks ethereal and almost magical.

I am no expert at post processing, but here is what I did. I shot this in RAW format and used lightroom2 to apply the "Cloudy" setting. That did not change the image much, just warmed it up a little. I lightened the foreground a little and bumped up the clarity. That's about it. I plan on posting a couple of the other shots I took with no PP so you can see it untouched. The scene did not need much help. The words you used to describe it all came to me when I saw it as well.
