It's good to see that Leica has some competition in the 'über-vulgar' department when it comes to special editions
I think after those Leica M6 special editions, the gold Hasselblad and the gold Pentax we can safely rename this thread as "The Most Vulgar Camera". I had no idea that cameras were serious competition in bad taste to wrist watches.
The exception of course is the Hello Kitty Leica, which is awesome
Yes, the Topcons are neat cameras, but I wouldn't call them beautiful. I have a Pentacon 6 which is also quite neat, but again, I wouldn't call it beautiful.
Like Luka, I think that the thread should be renamed, but I would suggest "Beautiful and Ugly Cameras"
Don't ever buy an M9 Luka, or we will have to call you Leica Luka

I am not interested in ugly cameras. There are plenty of them around. However, I don't mind the ugly cameras in this thread. First, they provide a nice visual counterpoint for the really stylish cameras. Second, even ugly cameras can sometimes have some stylish elements if you look closely enough.
Help me out fellas coz I'd really love to see it again ...
These cameras are beautiful but you have all still missed the most beautiful and I have been waiting to see it again. I saw it on ebay about a year ago, was French and pre 1930 (I think) I know Im giving little info but let me try, and remember Im using memory to recall the details but cannot even remember what my 1st girlfriend looked like (well OK Farah Fawcett but I'm not supposed to think about her) ...Hello Sharon if you are there, I still love you.
Its box like, p&s sized, no leather, the metal, um... a satin nickel kind of finish, Engraved as though it was done with a cnc laser and there were a lot of pull out parts that were machined so finely that there was only a hair between all machined surfaces.
If I was a borg (Dr Who reference) I could have worn it in place of an eye, not deco but very strong styling in the design but it had no ornamentals, could easily be used as a prop in the French film 'City of Lost Children'
Wasn't a name I'm familiar with (yes I know a name would help) but you can be assured it was not Zeiss, Kodak or Ricoh . I recall it selling for about $6-7000 and knew I should have bought it.
Be assured that I will be well punished if I see it again
I came across some new metal skins for d/SLR's and the Panasonic/Olympus MTF cameras. They are available in Gold and Silver. Here is the link to the seller:
