Wow, that was easy. Not hard to tell I'm new to this. Didn't realize those screws had that much to do with it.
Thank you very much, really appreciate it.
Every day I get blown away by how much info and help there are on forums. Life would have been so much easier if we had this 30-40 years ago.
a picture works everytime for ID. the rest is cake. enjoy your new found freedom.
appreciate the update. many brands are handled by many distrubuters around the world. i based mine on US point of reference. you have to wonder through all these brandings just how many actual manufacturers there are.
i did reference to "weird" names as pretty much all roads lead to China.
That pretty much covers the major players in the Chinese market though...
Lived in China for 6 years doing product and manufacturing sourcing. That is how I get to know many of them. Some of them are real decent quality too. I am very impressed with Sirui that I bought one of their travel tripods.
Oh ya, missed an couple:
Markins - Ball head maker in Korea.
Kangrinpoche - Guangzhou city, China. Chinese founded, made in China but top quality ballheads. Can go head on with Markins easily. But they make very little (100 ball heads a year?), sort of a specialty thing.
Vanguard - Taiwanese company (company and trademark applied in Taiwan). Manufacturing all in Foshan City, Guangdong province, China under the name of Guardforce company name (XiangWang in Chinese). They do not sell in China market making them a little tough to track down.
