p.1 #1 · Cosina Image Thread

All welcome - Vivitar/Cosina, Voigtlander/Cosina, Cosina/Cosina.

I'll start it off with one I can't find on-line anywhere - without the vivitar name. This one isn't Vivitar tho. It just says Cosina. Specifically: "Cosina 70-210mm 1:2.8-3.8 MC Macro Lens made in Japan".

It seems to be a pretty good lens. Here it is wide open at about 110mm - so I guess that would be like f/3.0 or f/3.2, or there about.

Handheld, ~f/3.2, 1/50s, ISO-640, ~110mm, Camera GH1, Focus Distance ~5m

Here's two more from the same lens:

Handheld at Sundown, f/2.8, 1/80s, ISO-200, 70mm, Camera GH1, Focus Distance ~2.5m

Handheld at Sundown, f/3.8, 1/125s, ISO-1250, 210mm, Camera GH1, Focus Distance ~8m

Voigtlander 50mmf1.8 Color-Ultron
I need to update, as I have many other much better photos, though, not enough time...

Those look pretty good! I'm looking forward to seeing more - especially if they're "much better"!!!

Here's the rest of mine. "the rest"... All of which just being from the first few hours with the lens. (at least of the ones half worth posting). I'll snap some the next time I go out I think. This lens is massively heavy but pretty fun to shoot with. It's pretty bright!

"Nagoya's Night Life"

Handheld after Sundown, ~f/2.9, 1/250s, ISO-200, ~100mm, Camera: GH1, Focus Distance: ~2m

"While He Ponders"

Handheld after Sundown, ~f/2.8, 1/160s, ISO-640, ~80mm, Camera: GH1, Focus Distance: ~3.5m

"God Is Orange"

Handheld after Sundown, ~f/2.8, 1/400s, ISO-640, ~90mm, Camera: GH1, Focus Distance: Just shy of infinite.

I hope more folks join in... It's kinda lonely in here right now.

Well, these aren't really that great.
I need to take some time w/ the good ones.

Quick rough updates from: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/933139
Hmm, after posting these, I see quickie work is crap on a laptop, sigh...

They're not that bad I think. A little WB here, a little copping there, wa-la - masterpiece!

Bifurcator, I'll toss one in...

Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, CV 12mm Heliar (LTM) on a Bessa 4M - shot close to wide open, so the sharpness isn't that great.

Also, pushing Fuji Pro 800Z to 1600 wasn't nice of me, either.
At least I didn't get my finger in the shot, like often happened when I first started using the lens.

By the way - now, more than ever - Fight on, Trojans!

They were horrible!
I will not perform quick edits anymore.
Not that I know how properly to edit for the web anywho.
I was wanting to show the bokeh difference of lens, got carried away.

Just adding these to this thread for posterity. Updating OS X is now on hour five (holy cow) and I'm bored.

It's the 28mm Macro f/2.8 Cosina with: "Lens Made in Japan Under Licence From VEB Carl Zeiss Jena" printed on it.

Hmmm, my spell-checker says they misspelled "License".

That's an interesting 28mm one, BIF. Haven't run into one.

By the way, I think they used "English", not american

I have a Cosina 28, it doesn't say "Macro" or "Zeiss" but the price was right.
I did see some rather heavy distortion in the corners, where some fence posts lean in to the center.
