Beautiful hummer images,Lora! I saw some Rufous in AZ but not many and in my yard,I see very few hummers.
I hope you'll get more hummers and I'm looking forward to see more of your hummer shots.

Thanks Hide. This is not a good year around here either. I have maybe five or six nfrequent visitors and photography is not my priority this summer, so not lots of opportunity. It was such a thrill seeing a different species, damn I wish I had my other lens on. I got a tiny sense of what you must feel on your trips. It's not as if I'm anywhere near mastering the Anna's, but I do love some variety.Yea, hopefully before the seasons over I can get some good shots.

Dang, nice shots! Flash used at all? And what do you do, set up a feeder?
Thanks. Yes, these were taken near a feeder. I prefer shots near flowers or fruit, but those are really tough to get. I almost always use a flash in combo with natural light, it fills in the wings and helps stop the action a bit.
My favorite shooting is with Hummers. Its kinda like hunting, you have to be still, quite and ready. I have 2 feeders, and mostly the ruby red throats and the occasional Rufus visit. The male red throats rn off the females, and watch over the feeders. I have one male that sits on the feeder guarding it. Great shoots.
