Someone just wrote to me and asked for recommendations of galleries in the greater LA area where they could view outstanding landscape photography. I'm afraid I couldn't be much help since I'm not a Southern California guy.
Can anyone offer some suggestions that I can pass along?
Best I can come up with is the Ordover Gallery down in Salana Beach, in Northern San Diego County, about 90 miles south of the "Shakin' City". Never been there, but I've heard great things about both locations from relatives living in the area.

Great shots of Artist's Point Man. Unique. Nothing like a like a little home field advantage (your brother's) in finding wonderful views.
Thanks for the pointer, and thanks for the comment on the Artist Point photographs - you are right that it helped a lot to have a "local guide" in the person of my brother!
I haven't been too impressed with the images on display at the ordover in solana beach. They have mostly canvas prints. I guess that is what has been selling lately. To see better work, there is a gallery by the Ordover in the San Diego Natural History Museum.
If you are a fan of Peter Lik, he has a gallery in La Jolla.
On a personal note, I'll have some big LF prints In a Laguna Beach gallery starting next month. The prints are currently in production.
Dan, as mentioned elsewhere, it's sad that there isn't more out here in Los Angeles. The G2 Gallery is the most consistant gallery that shows landscape work. Hope things change in the future.

right off the 101 freeway at Lynn rd. Less then an hour from downtown.
There aren't a ton of options. Looking out for shows is typically your best bet. There are often fantastic exhibits, but you have to remain a bit vigilant. i.e. I think there's a hoflehner exhibit coming up soon (depending on your interests).
