Serge, enjoying your scenes from Italy. Your rainy tourism there reminds me of my rainy walk in Istanbul. I only had a day and a half and was determined to do photography while getting soaked. If I remember correctly the sun came out a few hours before I had to head to the airport
Samy:
That is an incredible square - with the Blue Mosque on one side and the Hagia Sophia on the other. I was there in early March a few years ago (cold and also wet at times). I had only my RX100 II, but got some nice night shots. Although those RX100s are quite the capable pocket camera, I would love to go back with a FF and more experience now and try again. So much history, so much to photograph there. You can't do it justice with just day and a half! [I know, life, right?]
Trying to get time to upload those to my Flickr, but........
Doug, yeah that was just enough time to check out a few highlights (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, the underground cisterns and Grand Bazaar) and get some good food. Wanted to get to a palace (Topkapi I think) and catch a photo of the Galata tower at sunset, but neither of those worked out. I had seen an amazing pic of the tower in a travel magazine which I wanted to duplicate.
Did not go out, so took the last 18mm 4.0 photos still at home, this was an overcast day that started Foggy in SoCal, contributing to the tragedy that took Kobe's life.
I do not do well processing overcast photos. These photos are here only as test samples of what the lens can do, if you link out to Flickr clicking twice on tthe photo shows the full resolution and navigates around the image with the mouse.
Think the reference was to the heavy fog, and mentioning it also appears to be heavy fog that attributed to the helicopter crash that killed nine. Heavy new.
The three amigos/blabbermouths were what I thought of first. Curtis has wandered off for so long that I should probably prod him....
Sad news about nine people in a helicopter crash for sure

That's what I was referring too, didn't realize how ambiguous it sounded.
We should check up on Curtis off and on though, and on Leighton. The erstwhile blabbermouths of the thread disappear for long stretches nowadays.

Great composition in the first one Andy.
My eye started top right, followed the arrow and leading lines to the woman and then in the opposite direction, following the arrow to the lower right hand side. Really well done.
