My lens needs a hood. I'm trying to bid on a broken version of the lens which comes with all the things this one didn't have. If I win it I intend to take the good bits and hide the broken lens.

Had to go out early this morning to take care of my daughters critters. So Barbara and I took advantage of the early morning light to do some shooting.

Some really nice shots been shared these last few days. Great work everyone!
I just came home from a weekend in Berlin. I brought the NC24/2.8, 50-135mm and the 35/2.0 ais. I really missed having a fixed 50mm. So I made a quick search on the net and found a store about 200m from the hotel. At the store, Foto Braune, I found a 50/2.0 AI-version for 60 euro. The filter screw in was a bit beaten but worked out even though, glass, focus and aperture ring was all fine. I bought it and used it most of the weekend, I love to use it. I haven't uploaded any shots to my computer but will do so later on this week. And I hope the shots looks just as good in the computer as on the camera screen

I’m a fan of shots like this. Feels so inviting and warm.
Thanks Kevin.
It was a miserable, wet and really windy day outside.
It wasn't cold by any means but we wanted to get inside for a while and I wanted to check and dry my camera equipment.
It was a great decision becasue we tried a few different varieties.
Samy I'm beginning to think you get around as much as we do !
Colin you are correct the thread is sl o w !
Kevin good to here from you. Now post something.
Now its pretty bad when a slacker like me posts two posts to the same page so as to keep things moving. It's Labor day in the states and since this is a labor of love everyone try and post at least one picture. P L E A S E !
So these two are from the steam tractor show. There was a crowd hanging around the front of a 1914 Ford that has been restored. So here is a shot of the interior and the blow up is a shot of "Edsel Ford's" autograph. The last is a nicely and expertly restored 1915 Model A.
The landscape orientation version (which will produce a larger image on a landscape-oriented screen), the extra 5 sec and high res sensor, highlights some of the "issues" (ahem, I mean "rendering") of this lens - similar to the . posted tests of my 24mm lenses a while back (astigmatism). However, its still a fun lens to use.
This was one of the few days I used my D800 as I had neglected to charge the batteries of the XT-1. It took me a LONG time to clone out a LOT of dust bunnies that were on the D800's sensor visible at f16. I am looking to print this so will have to go over it again with a fine tooth comb on a big screen to try and spot any I have missed !!!

Great shot Andy. I guess dust is a by product of the environment you were in for so long.
You probably know this already but if you use LR then there is a 'visualise spots button/slider' that you can turn on when the spot removal brush is selected. Helps identifiy the smaller critters.
