PS - I am not a big fan of super "milky" waterfall shots. I know many people like that style, and its just a personal preference on my part - no disrespect intended towards those who do. 1/15 s was about as long an exposure I could do here in this light with what I had without blowing out the highlights. When I look at the water in these images, (especially when enlarged), it almost looks like molten plastic to me. I think its the lighting

Love the tones in this. I've been looking for a good ND-filter. I bought one a while ago. But it was for filming...didn't work very well. Which ND-filter are you using?

Kristian - it is a B+W filter. I’m on the road right now but will be back tomorrow afternoon and will get you the specific model

Beautiful landscapes Doug. I really hope to get to that part of the country one day vs just flying over to get to the west coast.

To add to the waterfall theme, here are a few shots from the nearby Qualicum River courtesy of (respectively) the 85 f/1.8 HC, 50 f/1.4 SC (x2), and the 2.8cm f/3.5 H.
Thx, George. It is very beautiful country out here - photographer's paradise? But there is beauty everywhere to the beholder.
But now, it's time to move from portrait back to landscape mode - that's why they call it "landscape", right?

Hey all. Any recommendations on where to get a lens reconditioned? I have some great lenses but they are "dry" for lack of a better term. They just need to be gone through and re-lubed.
Tony - when I get back to my computer tomorrow afternoon I’ll look up the couple I used. Limited to my phone tonight.

Kristian,
I use a Hoya 77 mm Pro ND 64 Filter (6 stop) and 77-52 step down ring to allow it to mate to my 52mm MF lens collection.
Tip - get a generic 77mm lens cap too if you go down this route.
I also have the 100mm Lee square filter starter kit that included a 2 stop ND.
Ideally I would go all-in with Lee but the filters are very expensive (but very good)
Sometimes I stack the NDs - as will be shortly shown from my early morning pictures from the 'Durdle Door' limestone arch in Droset.
Here's the last to post from my Jewel Basin hike. Again, during the harshest time of the day. I had to crop this a bit due to strange artifacts in the sky from the focus stacking - probably due to the wind and the amount the clouds moved between exposures. I tried to get some close-ups of the glacier lillies (which is why I packed the 55 micro in), but it was just too windy to get a sharp image.
This is a meadow a little below Picnic Lakes. Not the densest or yellowest, but I liked the scene with the stream and ridgeline.

If you want to play with NDs to see if they're for you, the ICE ND's on Amazon are quite cheap and actually quite decent. I think I got my 77mm 11-Stop for about $30? I used a B+W in the past for a while and always hated the color cast from it. I also have a Haida MC 52mm 6 stop as well that I rather like, but it's not quite strong enough for bright sunlight, and it's about 2x as pricey as the ICE filter. If the want the absolute best, the Breakthrough Photography x4 ND's are consistently praised and a safe but quite pricey buy.
