The Spanish empire put up an art show at the Balboa Art museum, with images I grew up with, from the Spanish territories of Iberia, the Netherlands, Austria, Mexico, Peru, the Filipinas.

Had to take my most capable fast lens. the ai 55mm 1.2 all the way to the right, no flash or tripod allowed.

Seriously, I never expected my 55mm 1.2 and the Z6 to meet El Greco, it moved me to tears.

And I was moved beyond tears by Peter Paul Rubens depiction of the Virgin Mary and Child Jesus, with a rosary and a blessing. Rubens painted many, this one is my favorite.

I remember both those spots Reagan at Vizcaya. Good for photo ops.

Rafael, very impressive paintings indeed, and using the 55 1.2 was the right choice!

Here I am about 47 years ago there
Tried to find the exact spot but couldn't
Thought I found it but the rail is gone now
and I am sure it was taken with a Nikon F2 and a Nikon MF lens
Most likely on Kodachrome

Curtis drag racing and worse in Minnesota Hard to imagine now in his sedate days in Marin

Anitajo thanks for your suggestion. I am not sure the 75-150 E has been talked about much. Do you any examples to share here?

Doug, fantastic scene in Glacier national park. Was reading about how that's less crowded but as scenic as Yellowstone.

Chris, a full-fledged tree house in Borneo! What an experience.

Andy, too bad your Hampi sets ran out but now I have it somewhere in my bucket list.

That's why they call it a "misspent youth" Samy...

Those are the years we're expected to be wild and crazy... even in Minnesota. I was simply being an honorable man in my twenties. We knew where happy hour was six days a week and made certain we drove to find them. I believe it was on Tuesday we couldn't find an option. I'm lucky I survived those years... Now I've given up not only fast cars but also drinking alcoholic beverages. Fortunately, I still enjoy picking up my camera from time to time and hanging out on this thread.

That's quite a change from the old bridge Scott. The red steel makes for a striking bridge, if slightly less historic looking than the old trestle. Did they also take out the older piers in the riverbed?

Yes, it looks like they completely removed the old piers and foundations. The new bridge is approx 100 feet south of the old bridge location.

Here is the 55 1.2 capturing St. Michael Archangel in the process of slaying his brother ex-Archangel Lucifer. Saint Michael the Archangel, Claudio Coello, c. 1660.

"What some people don’t realize is that paintings in this period, with this subject matter weren’t really about the expulsion of evil from Heaven. But, in fact, they were about the expulsion of foreign religions, such as Reformation Protestantism for example, from various parts of Europe. This painting, which is from Spain, was just such a painting.

So, through the subject matter, color choices and limited iconography, Catholicism is shown reigning supreme over all other religions in Baroque Spain. This victory was what this painting is all about. Good triumphing evil, Catholics triumphing over all, lesser religions. Christianity first, all others last." (Posted 24th July 2012 by Christopher M. Hammel)

Ok fellow Nikonians, a little help here.

I just ordered a Z6-FTZ-24-70f4, with filters, memory card and bag from B&H for $2400.

I am seeing some of you take great shots using MF lenses on the Zs. I have a couple questions in using my mf lenses on it.

1. Does the FTZ only work with Ai or Ai converted lenses? I have a 20mm 3.5 UD that I would like to use.

2. In search using the mf lenses with the adapter, the first link is KR, of course (curses him). He states that: "The FTZ lens mount adapter cannot automatically open and close lens diaphragms on manual focus lenses, so you manually have to open the diaphragm between shots for the most precise focus." What does that mean exactly. I will have all my MF lenses programmed into the menu of course, but what is the procedure for actually shooting these?

3. What does the "stop down metering" issue mean and how does that effect workflow?

Thanks everybody!
