Leighton, that sounds like at least six weeks before you get the tractor or truck key back in your hands .... and even longer before you are lifting stuff again !! ... Lean back and enjoy the rest, and enjoy watching the world through the eyes of cyber friends on this forum !! I along with many others wish you well .......
The weather took an unexpected turn for the better this weekend .....
They ran a diesel train special this weekend on the local tracks !!
So I took the 15mm f3.5 on the D810 .... it was sunny ... so blue blobs on most outdoor shots !!
Put the 28mm on the D500 and got some pix on that too !!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I am home, but it will be a while before I do any shooting. I have a new 12 inch scar to deal with. Makes me wish for my old drug days.
The doctor said that he got everything and that the prognosis was good. No more treatment needed.
Overjoyed that you are on the mend. How long are the docs quoting for recovering time?

Yes...
Leighton, that is such good news! Can't even imagine what you've been through. Let's hope for a quick recovery so you'll be back in business soon!!

Hi Friends, Checking in after long time. couple of key updates., Just finished getting myself a condo here at Alpharetta. Was busy with the house hunt and shifting. finished the shift., now need to figure where my camera stuff is.
I will get back to business, once things are settled down.
Leighton, hope you feel better.
Great news on your successful surgery, Leighton! I'm sure the air up there in the mountains will help during your speedy recovery.
Now that you've got some time on your hands, here might be something to try: use those MF lenses on a film camera. I have been fooling around with this lately, and, I can tell you, it puts some perspective on the flow of things - something very reassuring and comforting as one gets older, or, in your case, is in recovery.
I know it can be a nuisance, etc. but you do have the time, and Nikon film cameras are cheap if you don't already have one. Try an FM2n and go full manual! That will get you thinking of other things, and enjoying life in the slow(er) lane.
Also, don't I recall that you have at least one really great dog? Perfect! You have a waiting model for Portra 160!!!
