just hold it level keeping the horizon in the frame center. The rest is part of its appeal. De-fishing is for those who aren't really fisheye people to begin with. Embrace the distortion!
I might have got mixed up with "defishing" - what I intend to say is that I like the w/a view in a conventional rectangular format and don't like the circular pictures which don't gel with what I'm used to! But I am nearly 75 and a bit of an old f**t !
I might have to visit Bath again when I go to London later this year. I'll see about maybe renting a car instead of having to take a bus-based tour. I'll have my trusty 55/1.2 with me too!
Do you mean later in 2018? Within the next 2 weeks?
If you are based in London then take a day trip to Bath by train.
The journey time from London Paddington to Bath Spa is 1hr27m on the direct fast trains.
www.trainline.com shows an off-peak or super off-peak (outside of commute hours) return train ticket for £59.50
Unless you want to explore the surrounding area then I wouldn't bother with the hassle of car rental. Let the train take the strain.
Trying to familiarise myself with the XT1, I had an hour in Cairns after dropping my wife off for her work Xmas "do" so had a wander round the Marina.
I actually intended to shoot RAW+jpeg fine (and think I may have), the jpegs set to in camera modes such as "Velvia", "Monochrome" etc. but think I needed to check "treat jpegs and RAW files next to each other as separate files" so the jpegs never appeared.
Anyway, it's a simple task in LR to go down to Camera Calibration and set the profile there.
Had them all lined up nice and quiet, not a soul near the taxi stand
So I walked the kid back to the sidewalk and turned around for the shot...
And noticed this woman keeping pace right beside me, her stride mirroring mine
Left, right, left, right
Until her path started diverging, her to the left, mine to the right
Her left arm cradling paper bags emblazoned with department store logos, nestled in the crook of her elbow
Her right arm started snaking out
I realised then, aghast, what her motives were

Thanks Colin! Yes, next 2 weeks. Or maybe early in the new year. I'll be in London by the end of the year.
Posting a few examples from my late afternoon deer "hunt". Weapon of choice, Z6 and 300mm/2.8 AIS (early version with built in hood).
These are nothing to write home about from a composition standpoint, but I wanted to see how this lens handled and share my results. Plus I wanted to get out in the woods in the snow for a while. The Z6 IBIS is fully meeting my expectations. These images were handheld. Not something I would want to do for any extended period of time. Definitely need a monopod for comfort. Also, this combination will not replace the 200-500 AF lens either, BUT when it is low light and need 2.8 speed, this 300mm has a new life. Plus focusing was easy through the trees. The only focus hunting was my own
In the Cardinal shot there was some purple fringing because of the strong backlight, but nothing a click of the Defringe medicine dropper in Lightroom didn't correct.
Thanks for the likes and comments of late.
During a final cull of last Sunday's photos I saw the opportunity to crop this abstract view out of one I was going to ditch.

The local Port Authority is kind enough to provide excel files detailing cruise ships visiting Cairns. All I need to do now is remember to look at it - missed the biggest one that visits the other day (2200 passengers) so had to make due with this one (600 passengers).
They are due to dredge the inlet soon which will enable really big ones to berth in town, currently they have to anchor off Yorkey's Knob, get ferried to shore and then bus to Cairns.
