Inspired by the teriffic film images from Don and Samy, I wanted to share a Velvia 50 shot I got of pro surfer, Rob Machado. It was made with the Nikon F100 and 180/2.8 ED.
The photo was just a quick reaction shot taken while Rob was walking past some rocks at the Torrey Pine Reserve. Nothing special, but I do like the Velvia colors.

I like applying Velvia film simulation in post sometimes, In fact a few from above have it applied.
Ken, thanks for your comment on the tube shot. Good luck with yours.
Leighton, very nice shots. I'll give the Velvia simulation a try. Some folks criticize Velvia for being too "hopped-up" in the reds. But if Velvia's bad, I don't want to be good.

more technical now with illustration to Sonnar and Gauss types. a continuation of the last article...
Excellent article once more Rick. I'm still in doubt about buying a copy of this lens. I own the 105 mm f2,5 Nikkor-P Sonnar lens and love the rendering. I owned the P.C version, but after I bought the Sonnar lens from Eike on this thread, I sold the P.C lens to Kristian (and know he enjoys that one). But from time to time I miss the heft and sturdy construction of the P.C lens.

I've got a pristine pair of FM2/Ts that I've just started using and they are probably the most enjoyable cameras I shoot with. I put a wide angle lens on one and a short telephoto on the other and hit the streets. I mostly use the Sunny 16 rule and rarely get an exposure I can't do anything with. Surprisingly, I find my keeper rate is more than twice that of digital cameras. Also the book cover agent I send them to gobbles them up even if they only average 4 to 8 MB each. Here are a few shots from last week (I've also posted these shots in the Nikon Film Shots thread):
Nice series there Don. But why use sunny 16 where the lightmeter on these FM2's is perfectly usable (once you figured out how much to overexpose for a given scene)
My girlfriend uses my FM2 and I still frequently use my FM.These are indeed very enjoyable cameras, and compared to an F or F2, they are smaller and better fit in a coat pocket, which might just suit your style.
Never thought about going wider then 20mm? This was shot with my FM and an RMC Tokina 17mm f3,5. A lens that I used a lot some 20 years ago. Sold it since

After a day's work gardening I thought I'd grab a few shots with the 180 ED and a PK-12 tube given the recent ramblings about this combination.

Delicious set of images Don, so much in the style to which we've become accustomed. I recall saying YEARS ago that these images belonged on the cover of an Alan Furst novel. It is wonderful to read that you have a book cover agent! That makes perfect sense to me. Great work. With one of these camera and the 50 f/2 AI you can emulate Henri Cartier-Bresson and become a full fledged street photographer...
I love where your adventure has taken you Don. Thanks for sharing your work on this thread. Clearly, it belongs here too. We have a number of friends shooting film with our favorite lenses, which I know you have in abundance. Keep them coming...
