Hoping to see some interesting birds I grabbed the Z5-II with the 105mm f/2.5 for our usual neighborhood walk this afternoon. After a while we came upon a murder of crows (that's the correct name for a collection of crows) making a gigantic squawk in a tree. What's all the fuss about?
Ah. Just a bit further down a Red-Tailed Hawk not sure whether to ignore the crows or be slightly annoyed.
Not a great pic but enough to identify it.
Eventually it grew annoyed and flew away. We weren't expecting to see it again but I managed to get this. From the coloring underneath our guess is that it is an immature Red-Tailed.
I think I found my film spirit animal - the Nikon F4S. It is all dials, and locks for those dials. Little switches, buttons, and steampunk good looks. I experienced the absolute best green dot auto focus confirmation dot I have ever seen. Bright, backlit - with red arrows indicating the direction for correct focus.. I put non-ai to afs, dx, lenses, - and they all work. The little lens mount flip tab for non-ai lenses even has a lock button. So I loaded up a roll of Ultrafine eXtreme 400 and slapped on the Nikkor-O.C 35mm f2 souped the film in Rodinal-1:25-8.25min-at-70-degrees. It is heavy, but a pleasure to shoot.
I have everything to develop film at home, save the chemistry. I keep meaning to do it, but something always gets in the way. These look wonderful!

Rockport, you'll have a doozy of a time finding parking.I think the B&M still makes a stop there. (Now a T line but hey, I know it as B&M) you were venturous to drive down the Cape every weekend with everyone else
You should venture out to Letchworth for sure.
I didn't stray far from Oak Bluff when I went to MV. The boat ride is amazing though.

Great collection! Thank you.
Some of those sites I have never visited, e.g. Letchworth SP (NYS), Highland Lighthouse in Truro, nor even Rockport. My sweetie did a post-doc at MBL in Woods Hole while I was still writing my thesis, and I would drive down every weekend. We spent a lot of time on the inner Cape. We managed one visit to Martha's Vineyard, did a loop around the bike path (Cornelius SF?). Biked the Shining Sea Bikeway regularly.
Last week I was out and about with my camera at 14,500 feet - today a few feet above sea level at a seaside resort called Littlehampton on the UK's south coast. A dreary wet winter's day but great for photography.
More from the same little entertainment park. Moth-balled for winter.
Didn't have enough time to fully explore and look for different compositions.
50/2 & Z8
