Got myself a 5cm f/2 S mount to play with. Gnarly transition zones but it’ll pair nice with the 3.5cm and 10.5cm.
Cool set, Matt.

These are both with 180/2.8 AI-S. The first is alder trees from WA state’s Mountain Loop Highway processed high contrast b&w, the second is an outtake from Utah autumn shoot.
Thanks Ross. For what it’s worth I could easily enjoy your autumn shots for the indefinite future. Just need some @Leighton shots and I’d have my daily zen. Speaking of, it’s been a bit since he posted…

I appreciate that! Autumn is when it (life) all comes together for me, I wish I could live in it forever.
In June 2017 I had a bad case of plantar fasciitis, and Kehl Lake had this amazing forest floor that would remove all my pain. It was like walking on a soft sponge. This is from the opposite side of the lake from the earlier pano. 28mm f2.8 ais "New Growth" I can see that I have been through this batch of photos before, but not with my new set of blending mode actions.

I love those fresh green tips on the pines.

How about a couple with the Nikkor 18mm f/4 to move the thread along?

You’re making real nice work from that NC forest, Geroge.
I have come back and forth to this shot and played with the framing/crop and settled on this... Cropped out the sky to put emphasis on the valley. Posting this size does not really show the details, but sharing it anyway.
GFX 50R with the Nikkor 5cm f/2 Non-Ai "tick mark" lens. Acros-R in camera.
George, I like the 18mm. Jim, I see what you did there (and the last tree shot is great.)
The 5cm got me pulling out the 3.5cm and realizing what a compact package it was. Took it for a spin to see if I liked it enough to spend for the black version (my OCD gets me on the chrome) It definitely doesn’t love a digital sensor but it’s not too bad f/4 on. What say you?
Excellent work everyone - I feel like I've been visiting some really wonderful places.
In October of 2021 I was on my third 55mm f3.5 this time the Nikkor-P.C ai'd version - still a personal fav - not having a clue about a very late production ai version coming in my future. Why? I don't know.

If you have cropped just the top it looks like the 5,0cm f/2 has a really large coverage, I don't see vignetting or poor sharpness at the bottom corners.
I like this lens too, it has the best distortion correction among all the Nikon 50mm, it is virtually zero.
I shoot in camera 4x5 so the corners are cropped some from that, but yes the image circle is large and does a good job (relative to shooting a non-medium format lens) on the 44x33 sensor. I can’t remember the aperture used but it was not wide open so that really helped with the vignette.

Colin I love the rendering and colors from you Times Square series over the weeks. Just wonderful!

Since it is slow. Another 50/2 H night scene from NYC.
There was a never ending stream of cars so I couldn't get a full view of the diner.
I’ve been slowly getting over my funk and not wanting to shoot much. Been talking with a few of you about it via PMs and I decided to go ahead and pick up a Zf. I love the classic styling of the Fujis, but I need IBIS now and after trying a Fuji XT5 with my adapted lenses, I wasn’t able to get a really workable solution for me. I had bought one outright that was DOA, but I got to borrow one for a few days. It was a very frustrating experience. The Z5 is a great little camera that I might hang onto for a little while, but I don’t like diving into the menu or “i” menu as often as I have been. So, the Zf it is! I hope Nikons version of film simulations take off as I prefer to edit as little as possible.
This time it wasn’t the usual GAS devils… I blame this on James and AdaptedLenses (Matt)…
