I hear you on the PT. I felt fine after the spinal injection last week, went back to work Monday, did ok, PT after work. Tuesday, not so good. Pain running up the spine afterwards.
The electric BMW's are awesome, I got to drive a few last year, I was impressed, but not impressed enough to want to rewire the electrical in this house.
and that waking you up for a check, yeah... just let me wake up on my own and enjoy that rest. Otherwise I'm only getting 4 hours a night on work nights.
Torture wasn’t too bad. Hurting a bit in new places!
1. BMW. just say NO! My grandson has one as his first car. I thunk a 95 318I conv.
2. Right down the road from you is where JD Vance is from. We have a res in Sharonville next month, heading to the UP. I THINK we’ll probably cancel. Don’t think i can negotiate some of the more rustic places we will stay (trails, steps etc. )
3. Take care of yourself!
I had not thought about it that way.
The reg is real - it has not been Photoshopped.

I see what you did there with that reg, Colin. Such a beatiful car. I'm trying very hard to tolerate the design language of the EV sedans but it's a struggle.

Okay, sorry but busy lately. Colin my neighbor has an electric BMW yes I think a Taycan?? With a Corvette soundtrack. Actually sounds good with a Vrooom rather than whiz.
Laura, I tried to walk it off to get home. Maybe 50 feet or so, then I hitch-hiked. Walked (hobbled) in and sat. Called the surgeon then the ambulance when Robin got home. Here I am. Hospital stay was okay! Food was great with an everything menu. Really surprised. Nurses all got hugs at end of shift. Still confused as to why they wake you out of a sound sleep to ask “Are you doing ok?”
PT gets here in a bit. Can you say Spanish Inquisition?...Show more →

Colin thanks for the education! I lump all German cars together along with Japanese. They all appear to have diminished quality since 2000s. I admit I have a predilection for US made which have got better in quality since the 2000s. Korean, I’m not really sure, sort of like VW. They are certainly cheap enough.
My buddy has a McLaren 720. I like the Aston’s and LRs if you can afford to keep one w/o a warranty.
Back on topic. I have a Z6 and it appears to be a good rugged camera. I would live to have exif but none of the newer mods do that. Considering a Zf. I think Jay shoots a Z8, my buddy into modern glass does so also.
Hey, question to the group. Do any of you get canvas, acrylic, or metal prints? Any recommendations or places to avoid? I am all set with standard prints, but need to do a few for an exhibit in September and looking at alternative prints.
Mark Metternich would be someone I would reach out to. He does large prints that always come out amazing. He might be able to point you towards a good printer.

George, I print my own on an Epson 7880, but about 9 years ago I won DOF contest on Photo.net that had a canvas print prize from CanvasPop. The first print I wasn't thrilled about, but they called me to ask how I liked it. I explained how the file had changed, and sent a side by side photo of what I received with the file I had provided. The company owner called back and apologized. This level of service surprised me for a frameless mounted 2' x 2' canvas print that was a prize. He re-printed it, mounted it, shipped it on his own dime, and this time it was perfect. I have matte, gloss, exhibition, and luster papers, but I didn't have a roll of canvas until a few clients demanded them. Even with my own 40' roll - I went back to Canvas Pop for a 2'x 5' canvas print - I really don't think I could do any better. Btw. The photo that won was the first few shots from my then newly acquired 105mm f1.8 ais.

I have been on the fence for a large format printer (currently max out at 13x19). Depending on how this goes, it may push me over the edge on getting one.
Next up, a shot from a Back Country Road (basically the next level down from a dirt road here, they are generally less maintained, have Fords along them etc.
The road in question was from Kinloch to Greenstone, north of Glenorchy and on the opposite side iof the lake. Kinloch has about 5 houses, Greenstone is a Trail Head, no houses, named after the Pounami or Jade that is found there and prized by the local Maori tribes.
Anyway, the road has 3 fords and looking up the creek at one of these was this scene.
Too late on BMW, if I can coordinate my one and only known day off (Sunday) and the tiredness isn't too bad, I'll go make some photos. I've had this one almost two weeks now, will probably be the last vehicle I ever buy so I went big.

George,
Being in the Eurozone I use a German company called Whitewall. www.whitewall.com
Can't fault them in anyway for any of the products I have ordered from them over the years.

I have used ProPrints.com many times and have never been disappointed. I had anything from 11x14 all the way to 36x48 canvas prints made by them and every one of them has been very nice.
More film scanning. Fuji RD was a one year (1993) ISO 100 slide film - that lacked the super saturation of Velvia, but had a warm tone. That was what I used to shoot this in 1993. This huge stick in the sand dune is the very top of a virgin Hemlock whose base is still under the moving sand dune. The person standing next to it (me) is 6 foot 2 inches tall. About 150 feet lower, at the base of the dune, is a beautiful little pond surrounded by Hemlocks, Birch, and Maples. Nikon FM with the 35-105mm ais
