Just exploring the website looking for something more contemporary. My first post was on a thread in deep hibernation. Previous post ten years before! The 'small flowers you refer to are actually part of the innermost whorl of the whole flower. The female stigma of the flower which is connected to the ovary by the style. Pollen from the male stamen which surround the stigma is deposited on the four petal like stigmatic lobes. The successful male gamete will grow down the style tube and unite with the female ovum within the ovary. The flower is now fertilised and multiple new zygotes will develop within seeds. For later dispersal and hopefully germination. The outer whorls sepals and petals originally make up the bud prior to the flower opening. The colourful petals and nectar secreted at the base of the flower attract pollinating insects....Show more →

I would have thought the prices in NYC would have been higher, interesting.
Leighton the prices in Manhattan are much higher specially at the rip off grocery stores. I resort to sidewalk street vendors for fruit and certain veggies that are far more reasonable. Restaurant prices are in another planet and then some.
I meant that the prices at your market are reasonable by comparison.
Added: Noticed than in the last page photographs have been posted from five different countries, amazing.

Of all those various social media things, I only have Flickr and Instagram, and the Flickr link works for me. Here is what I have in my profile:

Rafael, excellent capture of your little red Corvette. I once had a similar mechanical symptom that you described, it turned out to the fuel pump.. Replaced the part and filter and it ran like a champ afterwards.
Leighton, great to see your photos from the market. The produce prices look reasonable at least compared to NYC.
I am getting ahead of myself posting these but wanted to share something different.
Serge, a toast to your health with Solan de Cabras mineral water!
This Corvette has run too rich for a long time, and the carburetor is the original one, its failure gave me an excuse to replace it with an original rebuilt; also replaced the fuel filter, but the problem this time was in the ignition, the breaker points replacement optical sensor I installed on it failed after 15 years, this time added a magnetic one. Have not finished tuning the car but it runs non-stop, will add new plugs and set timing.
speaking about cars here is the 1936 only one in the world Pierce Arrow, 26 years newer than the 1910 shown previously, this is a depression era car, more of a Pebble Beach car than a cruising Grand Street car. Glad they brought it, although the driver seemed to look down on us plebeians in a sort of friendly way.
This one is not from this car, but tos et the mood:

I'm with Serge, loved the shot of your Corvette but wow loved the Pierce Arrow hood ornament one even more ! I presume that's late afternoon californian sun ?
Those green traffic cones and their subsequent reflections are horrific !

Farewell to Nippi, she’s on her way to Samy. The rest of my lenses are relieved though, maybe they’ll get to come out and play soon. Had one last morning with her, shot her stopped down a bit more and I’m still loving the rendering.
I'm currently not shooting old Nikkors or old Nikons, but I am thoroughly enjoying this thread. I haven't gone through all 2,256 pages, but I'm working on it.
