Are you going to be like my brother-in-law was when he retired? He would call every morning and ask me what day it was. Said it sure felt like a Saturday, same as yesterday

NOOOOO! Please don't send me down the rabbit-hole of considering the purchase yet another legendary Nikkor 105mm lens!
The Nikkor-P Sonnar lens has its admirers, and I've thought about looking for one. But I already have an AiS copy (Xenotar /Gauss design), a 105/1.8, a Micro-Nikkor 105/2.8, _and_ an AF-DC 105/2, so really I have a serious problem with 105mm lenses and should not be looking.
Lovely photos BTW. I love my 85/1.4, but find the 105mm focal-length is just that extra-bit of distance for casual concert photos, not to mention the 105/2.5 doesn't intimidate the same way that the 85/1.4 "light cannon" does. ...Show more →
Loving the way you put that
I went down the same path some years ago, except that the LTM Nikkors were never an option for me.
Eventually I stuck with the early 105mm f2,5 Nikkor-P in Sonar design, the 10,5cm f4 Nikkor-P on bellows for macro and a Sigma 105 f1,4, which might be even more intimidating then an 85mm f1,4.
To be honest, the AF lens hardly ever sees use, except on events
I am afraid so!
Eleven days in and I can relate to that feeling already

Good to see you getting out and about Colin. Once my ex FiL retired he reckoned there's nothing wrong with the UK weather, it's just that normally you're stuck in work on the good days.
Last ones from the car museum.
Not to fear though as we get onto the vintage motorcycle museum next
Texaco bowser. "Power Chief" fuel showing a Maori Warrior Chief. Different times I guess.

I like to San Diego Zoo more for its immense and luscious Garden grounds that the animal exhibits, took the 50mm 1.4 ais to the Zoo as well, a lens I have come to love, it is excellent and can be purchased cheaply.

Very nice zoo pictures. I really liked the hippo. Have you been to the safari park? Other than the aviaries at the zoo, we enjoyed the safari park more.
