I know and share Ronny's liking for the 180mm 2.8 ED in extensions.
Wanted to try the 300mm 4.5 EDIF ais on extensions, as he requested some pictures. Mine are not that good but they might give a sense of what the lens can do, used 24mm and 36mm extension (PN-11). Full size in Flickr. Will try it with the TC-14 but at a distance, close up it will not help any.
This was hard to do even though I had a good setup:

Very nice! I had the first version and it was nowhere near as nice.

Santa Maria della Pace, Rome, located on a narrow street behind the Fountain of Neptune @ Piazza Navona. The interior dates to the early 16-17 centuries.
Serge, Thank you! Beautiful art, archecture, but one thing that is amazing is the dome. I think I figured out what it was that grab my attention. The dome is an octagon, but the coffering motif is hexagons. Even wikipeda incorrectly says the coffering is octagonal. The Alhambra in Granada Spain mixed geometric shapes in amazing ways, and it effected me similarly.
TBH it's amazing what has changed even in the last 5 years. I run my imaging on an app on my phone through the asiair.
The AM5 mount I want is a Harmonic mount so doesn't need to be balanced or any counterweights !

Andy,
Wow, serious gear. I think watching your results will have do for me. The technology advances since I use to dream about astrophotography 50 years ago are amazing.

Love those car pics. According to Jay Leno the Citroen is the most comfortable car ever built.
Whenever I know I'll be taking car pics I throw a polarizing filter into the bag to lessen the window reflections.

James, you are welcome. Glad you enjoyed the small tour of a very interesting church, so easy to miss. The ceiling is something else and I should have taken it from the floor to better capture its scale. next time.
Andalusia is very high on the bucket list. There are several awesome historical cities in the region.
George, excellent photograph. From what I have read, there is great trout fishing in the Chauga River.
Rafael, terrific captures with some great looking gear.
Andy, enjoy your classic automobile photos, great tones. Once upon a time, car design were creative and bold with far friendlier price tags.
Pons Fabricius, named after its architect and built in 62 BC. It is the oldest standing bridge in Rome and has been in continuous use since its inception.
Please excuse the flare, overcast sky into Mr. Sun.
Thanks! That is what I am hearing too. There were several spots I wish I had my fly rod with me yesterday. I may have caught something other than a tree Will have to give it a try on my next trip.

I will have my next week version Nikon Nikkor 300mm 4.5 ED IF AI-s

Ronny,
I like the 300mm 4.5 EDIF quite a bit for its size and ever so smooth focus, it is very sharp at a distance, up close it is not in the same class as the 180mm 2.8 ED, but can be used in a jiffy.
Forgot to mention that with the 36mm extension the focal distance is a couple of feet, with the 24mm more like three feet.
Below is just the lens with one of my better sharpness test subject, the EDIF is just as sharp as the K, the only performance advantage of the K is color edge aberrations around strong highlights, the K has none.
Thanks, Fairly new, haven’t gotten to play much. This was a Zfc shot too so 165mm equivalent. Got it around when I got the 3.5cm/2.5, but that handles a lot better than the 10.5.

Great light play there Matt! Is that 10.5cm a new acquisition for you?
