Rafael, excellent photographs of the Egret, terrific lens and processing. I did some reading and the oldest recorded Great Egret was 22 years + 10 months, they do live long and prosper.
I love that ceiling in the Pantheon! Got to get back to building a pair of antique computers to run original software from the 1990's, and a newer (2017) win10 to run vuescan - both using SCSI Nikon scanners from 1997-1998 - I think (LS-1000, and LS-2000). The silly auto feeder cost 3X what the scanner cost. Just got my 50 pin terminator in the mail today - how often do you get to say that?
According to the weather forecast it would be dry weather in Amsterdam, so my wife and I went for a stroll through the city.
As is often the case, there's a difference between forecast and reality.
So wen the drizzling rain became pooring rain we fled into a restaurant.
It was not a nice day to hire a boat.

Excellent work recently. Blair, your subject just isn’t fair but your execution is still next level. Siphiwe, I’m loving the B&W, especially the jasmine. Raphael, great job focusing that 800, I remember that shot in the flowers, still a great composition. Kevin, Nippi looking good. The first is real cool and the rhino close up looks 3D.
This one was taken at the 2023 NYC Easter Parade. I will try to take decent photos later today of the 2024 version. Manual focusing this event is a total bear.
It's slow today, so I'll post our annual family Easter photo. The sun was bright and directly overhead, but my wife insisted that this is where we were doing the photo. You can see that all of us were squinting and the boys were not happy. It was nice having the family together, but we were missing my son and his wife. If you can't tell, I'm the old man in the photo.
Good to see the pace pick up, some great pics from around the globe and a great variety of subjects.
I took a trip down to Invercargill last Monday (which is at the bottom of the South Island) to visit a couple of transport museums (pics to follow). While down there I nipped across to the fishing village of Riverton.
I've been dropping in here infrequently of late, due to busy-ness, and not having much opportunity to read and respond. However, I figure the least I can do is to post a few images. So here is another small set of photos from the Drumheller dinosaur museum in 2017, from the Fuji X-E2 and miscellaneous MFNG.
FYI, we're expecting some pretty dicey weather today. Will post status when it all passes. Coming up on the 50th anniversary of the Xenia tornadoes too.
Hey gang. Has been a while. I have some pages to catch up on, but will leave you with this shot. My wife has been tending to what started out as just a couple wild common blue violets in our back yard woods. Over the last few years it is starting to spread more and more.
Below is a shot of a small cluster. Leaves are not much bigger than a thumbnail and the flowers are still hanging in.
Shot with the NIKKOR-SW 90mm/4.5 large format lens with Copal 0 shutter on the Cambo Actus DB with Hasselblad digital back. Back tilted about 3 degrees
I think depends on the size you are viewing the image. On this web page resolution I like the crop for the detail of the trees, but if it were a large print, I think I would prefer the wider frame.
