I just love walking the backstreets of Seville. This is about two blocks from where we are staying. Also, my first trip out with the new to me -- Nikon 55mm f2.8 AIS, taken with Z7ii.
Well up until last night, I was considering letting go of the Z8 and maybe getting the smaller Zf (still have not handled one). But with the release of the massive firmware update to the Z8 yesterday that may completely change that thinking. Going to update to ver.2 today.
A quick look of at the new firmware shows that they added the Flat Monochrome and Deep Tone Monochrome from the Zf to the Z8. Will be really interesting to see how that performs for jpg out of the camera with some of the old Nikkor rangefinder glass adapted. They goes lunch today

I'm curious...what's going to be your daily driver as bodies go?

Grant, just 2 105 2.5's and one 1.8? You don't know what having a problem means. Yet. Just hang around more on this thread and you will find out
Well, it's actually just a single 105/2.5 (though it is the second one I've owned -- my only sell/re-buy lens), but I just realized I also have a Micro Nikkor 105/2.8 as well, so I'm back to three 105's. I know by the standards of this thread I'm a light-weight, but it is kind of shocking to discover I have a "type" as they say, and it's name is 105mm. I would have guessed it was 24mm as that is the lens I've historically shot the most photos with (an AIS 24/2), but the evidence of my lens cabinet doesn't support that!

No shifting going on when its on the GFX (vignettes), the 23 has so much colour and contrast SOOC but the 28 shots are fine with a little PP in LR. As Leighton says, the mf experience beats AF every time too even though most of my shots only involve checking focus at infinity or near infinity!
So it's just $$$ (medium format glass aint cheap either btw!) sitting on a shelf, money I could use for my new portable (van-able) astro rig.

Andy, is the appeal of the 28 that it is PC? Just wondering choice of narrower adapted lens over native and wider lens.
I've been going through old photos doing some organizing when I came across this one. Nothing special except that it reminded me how I hated putting the sheep in this paddock next to the vegetables with only a little electric netting between them. If they were to break through this when we weren't looking they could have eaten thousands of dollars worth of our market garden.
I spend an inordinate time on some pages, the NikonRumors one is an example. They do a have a big splash on the Z8 firmware, but I also saw this. Very cool to know the number of cameras and lenses, both F-mount and mirrorless they have on that space station. And 15 FTZ II adapters!! That gives us a hint how many F-mounts are sitting around in that thing. Can we say those NASA astronauts have a GAS problem too
Just noticed, firmware update for shutter speed! I wonder if Nikon will offer to send out a firmware update to get higher shutter speeds to us commoners wandering around on firm ground, at a price, a la Tesla.

Thanks for sharing Samy. I could see myself spending several hours perched there shooting.
No doubt now with that firmware update. Pixel shift, Monochrome profiles, ability to add any focal length, f stop info and now lens name in the Non-CPU menu. They finally caught up with Fujifilm in that feature

It would be hard to let the Z8 go.
Any focal length is cool, I have the Leica 90 Summicron for example that I have to fake as an 85mm. And lens name!!! That is perfect, now I want that in my Z7II and the Zf also! Probably not even too many lines of code to get those features in.
Thanks for skipping lunch to dig into the firmware updates right away George!

Leighton,
Those Leeks are gorgeous - I make a spanakopita chock full of leeks, spinach, and feta. Thanks! I know what I'm making soon.
