Nikkei perhaps? I missed out on the Nikko experience. Hmmm, wonder what would make a good lens to travel.
On an unrelated note, I'm going to post up my mileage unknown (shutter count isn't reading out, probably less than 75K) D700 tomorrow, complete with a pile of 0 rated OEM batteries, Kirk L-plate, Canon Eg spare focusing screen that is trimmed down for a D700 (albeit with a few scuffs/scratches IIRC) and tons of OEM shims for adjusting it (from my original D700, never got it into this one) plus a few memory cards. Not going to be very spendy, but I thought I'd let anyone who is interested be aware:
YAY! I wanted to get out and use it yesterday after work, as Tuesdays seem to be a good day for aircraft, but I was too tired after work. Supposed to be clear next Tuesday, I'll plan on going to a good spot to get the aircraft.
I'm guessing the second shot is from Memorial Drive, looking at the Charles River Apartments that used to have that sign out front "If you lived here, you'd be home now"
So far (as of seeing your post) I haven't seen anything from Andy and his 200 f/2...

Laura, I could not resist! He sold for the price I was willing to pay! This is my first attempt to use this lens (pretty heavy); it was windy, and I was afraid I would drop it (I used my tripod; I could not handheld it).
Send me your last NEF from that D700 and I'll get the shutter count for you. I've got a friend looking to buy one of my D700's

In a somewhat related but irrational decision, I just bought a mint D700 because I had 3 fresh EN-EL3e's, chargers and an empty camera bag after I sold mine last year. Helps that I loved the thing. Doesn't help that the fam will be pointing fingers "we told you you will miss it". I'm happy though.

Laura, I was on the bicycle path (Storrow Drive side) across Boston Univeristy. I tried to set up my tripod in the footbridge, but it was too windy. I do not know about the sign, but I was looking towards Memorial Drive. You are correct.

Yup, I uploaded an image to the website last night and the website reported that it couldn't provide a count. I've never heard of that one before.
Wow I step away for a few days and the thread goes crazy. More new lenses (500mm no less), old coins, old cars, talk of sending another lens around the world. And Leighton thinking about coming back to a Nikon body!!
Awesome pictures and I need to go back and hit the like button and catch up during lunch

Oh its Regina with the 500! This you really need the tripod or some other support. The first time I looked through it I was floored by the image quality. The last time I think I used it was last year spring at Bombay Hook national wildlife refuge in Delaware. This one was balanced through the car window.
