Another early morning shot. These were the AI’d 24mm f/2.8. Last one was f/8, this wide open.
Leighton, we gonna see some of your farmers market shots soon?
Hey Matt, you probably aren't aware, but I retired from the market in 2020. We were vendors there for 21 years and I was the manager for 15 of those years. Part of my job as manager was to take photos and post them to our social media sites. So, I don't have any current images to share. If you're interested, you can see a select few of the thousands and thousands I took by clicking on this link: https://flic.kr/s/aHsk6o4bHy
P.S. If you scroll down a little on that first page, you'll find a pic of Samy, George and myself.
I think I knew you’d stepped back from the work, didn’t know the pictures were for the market or if you might still shoot it for fun. Regardless, enjoy the well deserved rest. I always liked your compositions of those subjects, so I’ll have to look through that album.

I still go to the market as a customer, but oddly, I'm not interested is shooting while there. Must have burned out.
Since we don't have to go to the market every Saturday now, we can do other things, like go to my oldest grandson's soccer game. Taken with the 50-135/3.5.
Great photos everyone. My allergies got out of control, and turned to sepsis. Fortunately the Dr got me on some meds in extreme short order, and I'm on the mend already - getting old sucks!. More botanical garden leftovers with my favorite long working distance 480mm (EFL) macro - the D7200 200mm f4.0 ais micro + the modified TC-16a

Very nice spring flowers Jim! I have to agree with you about aging. Even though I am a mere 65 years of age, my body is starting to speak to me of its accumulation of wear and tear! My mother used to say that "aging is not for cowards."
I finally got out for a spring photo hike, this time at Bald Mountain, which is one of my favourite spots for getting some exercise while enjoying a bit of nature. Because of the clear skies and bright sunlight, I decided to take just my IR converted Fuji X-T2, along with a single lens: the 35-200 f/3.5 A-is.

Wow, sepsis from allergies, it must have been horrific. At least you got some beautiful pics for your troubles. Glad you're on the mend. And yes, getting old sucks!

Went to a local botanical/art garden Wednesday on my scooter. The roughly 5 acre parking lot was full, and four
large school buses were at the entrance. I had anticipated the crowds, but not that large - see, there was a butterfly exhibit. The stranding room only tropical hot house steamed up my lenses in mere seconds. Children were weaving around adults, and many adults with cameras were madly shooting butterflies in motion while they to were in motion. My tools of choice D7200 Nikkor 200mm f4 ais micro with the TC-16A provided a leisurely working distance.

Brings back some memories. I love the setup you used. As far as the Noct, just bite the bullet and get yourself one.
Ah, the Nocturnal, I resist it, have more money in like 8 or 9 55mm 1.2 in perfect condition, including one CRT - which is better than the Noct, but only really near.
Photos shared here are just great, thanks to all for continuing to let me enjoy your wonderful images.
Sorry you had to go through that sepsis James, I just went through an ear infection that lasted weeks, ended up having a wisdom tooth removed, should have done it 55 years ago! fully cured now.
I cannot compete with the images, but it is not a competition,
This is the time it all blooms in SoCal, even the lowly ground cover. Don't go out much but I am proud of my plants which thrive in this weather.
Nikkor 2.8cm 3.5 S mount, fully open. Center is super sharp, corners not so much, but it can be closed down to fix this.

Glad you are on the mend! I had sepsis over Christmas. The docs said had I waited any longer, I would not have made it. I was on IV antibiotics for 4 days in the ICU, then three more days in the cardiac ICU. I’m still paying the price for that one. I’m on disability for at least one more week. My diabetes, especially my neuropathy in my legs, feet, and hands, went completely out of control. I felt like I was being dipped in boiling water up to my waist. We have basically started over from scratch on all the meds I have to take. I’m actually starting to feel a tiny bit better.
I haven’t really been shooting much of anything the last three or four years. My desire is there, but my body is failing me everywhere. I may start selling off my kit if things don’t improve. I still lurk from time to time to see how everyone is doing. I miss my photo friends.
Kevin, That sounds just awful. My blood sugars also went crazy, but I think it was my fault. I could hardly breath - so I didn't eat much. Lost 10 pounds in 7 days and for a few days insulin made my blood sugars rise and eating made them drop. So I just believed the glucose numbers and forced myself to eat a high protein/low carb diet. Took about 2.5 days to get back to a good balance.
The antibiotics have been doing some kind of re-arranging of my insides. Since Friday evening I am noticing many improvements in things I hadn't noticed were going bad. Maybe it is like that boiling frog analogy. It did take many many tries to get to see a doc, but I ended up with a nurse practitioner on the University campus. The light of experience in her eyes was comforting, and the results , so far, seem spot on.
I Hope you can find a patch of good health and that you tiny bit better grows
Jim
