Thanks. The aurora only appeared for a half hour or so before it disappeared and was fairly faint by eye.
I hope so on the landscape treat. Main purpose of the trip is to be in Oslo to drop my daughter off at the University of Oslo for the year - that's where I am now.
Weather looks bleak for rest of the week here.
May try to get to the volcano in Iceland on my way back (if I can extend my layover), but the weather also looks bleak this coming weekend.

Great captures John. I can't believe your daughters are college age.

Yes, yes, they are. In fact they are in their 2nd year. One in Oslo for this next year, the other in Bristol UK this year too.
May I feel old when I look back on all those playground pics I took of them.
Great auroras John, great to see you back! Quite a feat at those exposure lengths. Congrats on being a college parent, time definitely waits for no one.
This place is starting to become a wildlife sanctuary. This fawn was right outside my office window this morning, while two adults were behind the barn. A buck was there last evening. I would have hated this a few years ago while trying to make a living growing vegetables, and no doubt would have run outside to chase them off. But we rather enjoy seeing them now.
After avoiding it for almost 2.5 years - I caught Covid-19 at the end of June. Being fully vaccinated and twice boosted made an incredible difference in my experience, and I am so thankful. On July 3rd I forced myself to go out and shoot some IR at a graveyard, and soon after I began to recover. Yet the world just keeps on turning, and my 103 year old mother started a new chapter (she was a librarian) on July 29th, and died in her sleep. This last Sunday my third grand son entered this thing we call life. So, I have been busy and tired - which are good problems.
Mom, watching the water on Grand Traverse Bay, a couple years ago with the D800 and the 28mm f2.8 ais

Went to Mazatlan for a few days to get together with old Mexican friends, had not been in Mazatlan in 30 years or more. Had a great time but will not go back due to the heavy narcomafia presence.
We were sent off with a wonderful sunset, this is the afterglow in true colors.
With apologies for the clinical presentation and the T-shirt, here are all my 'mirror-up' lenses.
I have the correct mint caps and viewfinders for all except for the 2.1cm. I have bought and returned 4 each of the 2.1cm as they are hard to find defect free. The 2.1cm cannot be used with the digital mirrorless cameras, but it is excellent on film, it is very easy to mount on the F cameras. This 2.1cm came with no viewfinder so I found a 21mm Contax viewfinder to use with it. I only have one F to normal flash mount adapter, so the Voigtlander viewfinder is not on the F camera.
The Voigtlander 15mm is the only non Nikkor lens I have bought, as it is in homage to the F mount.
The fisheyes I keep on the Z mounts, and save the mint original caps from wear.
I have an extra circular fisheye viewfinder in mint condition, would trade for a 2.1cm finder,
The flash and the 70mm 1:5 micro are responsible for the clinical look, will do better in the near future, promise.

James, sincere condolences on your loss. Looks like she had a great innings, though death is something we can never get used to despite its inevitability.

So sorry for your loss James, and congrats on the grandson. Definitely a mixed emotion time for sure. Lovely photo of your mom.

Jim, it sounds like you have been on an emotional rollercoaster of the past few months. I'm glad you have recovered from Covid, but so sorry to hear of you mother's passing. I know the new grandson is a bright spot in all of this. Congratulations on his birth.
The circle of life is always with us. Your Mom had a long and wonderful life and now your new little fellow has all of that ahead of him. You are so blessed to be able to share in both. We are all thinking of you with such mixed emotions. Glad you kicked the Covid. Take care and enjoy that new grand baby.
Rafael,
Does that Voigtlander 15mm mount right through the shutter (it looks long enough to touch the film plane)? I am not sure how you plugged it in to your F mount bodies.
Jim
