New to the thread and forum.
I've enjoyed using MFT - focal length (v weight) and high quality optics.
I recently got the EC14 (used) - and it has transformed how I use my existing FT Oly. 50-200mm. The extra length has made it much more usable, and I reach for it much, much more than before.
Below, some pictures from this summer, around the garden / village here.
Got a Panasonic S1R on the way to me this week, might sell my m43 gear after all but we'll see, how can I ever replace the Panasonic Leica 42,5mm F1.2 lens?

Funny that you mention the S1R - I am actually selling mine as I don't do much of any cropping let alone printing. It's a great camera and I love the build quality. To get something close to your 42.5 F1.2 that's affordable, you'll have to go with the new Sigma 85mm DG DN lens as Panasonic hasn't released their 85mm which will only be a F1.8. There isn't a S Pro version currently on their roadmap.
ps: I doubt you'll sell your M43 - I have both formats and they work well together as the S1R after sometime can get pretty heavy in hand.
Wibus - I am literally sitting here waiting for your impressions :-). When I first bought our two G9s they were for running around. But the studio workflow, while a bit primitive, is actually really easy because the HDMI out supports UHD and I now can shoot high-resolution just as if I am using a view camera, except my "groundglass" is a 30 inch monitor. I now use them for almost everything. Really love the quality. And the sensor performance actually is a bit better than my Canon 5Ds.
And I have been curious from the start about the Lumix FF brethren, so please - as soon as you are comfortable - I really am looking forward to your impressions on how the S1R performs.

I does indeed seem like a great camera but I can see why you are selling if you don't crop or print. I have my Canon Prograf 1000 printer which I intend to use more and more and the S1R doesn't only give higher pixel count but also the ability to crop more, which I find my self doing more and more in order to experiment and learn (so I can get it right in the future in camera).
The Sigma 85mm DG DN looks superb, and its rendering looks quite similar to the PL 42,5mm I must say, from what I have seen so far so I think that will be a great alternative IF I decide to sell my m43 gear. I was thinking I'd keep the G9 and the great lenses for a while and see but I suspect I will end up selling it and investing in the L-mount. I'm currently fine with the fact that there aren't all too many lenses as Sigma finally seems to be putting out some great DG DN mirrorless lenses, the 14-24 is high on the list as well as it is now, not to mention the new 105 macro.
I'm also fine with F1.8 lenses actually, it's still faster in relative terms than what m43 has. The F1.2 lenses on m43 are more or less similar to F2.5 lenses (if I am right?) on FF when you take sensor quality in to the equation. Should be around two stops better. There are pros and cons to both though, I love the ability to shoot close with m43 thanks to the lenses close focusing ability. With the S1R cropping can have the same function in many cases though and more often than not I'll end up with more pixels on target.
However, the F1.8 primes from Panasonic will also depend on whether they are good or not. I suspect they will be unless they treat them as entry level V-loggers lenses.

And I'm sitting here waiting for the camera It should arrive tomorrow according to the postal service.
The G9 is such a superb camera and I understand why you use for so many things now. Panasonic have given their cameras a LOT of thought which is very apparent when it comes to user friendliness and functions.
I'm at home for a few weeks so should be able to put a lot of time in with it and I'll make sure to give you my thoughts with it! Is there anything special you would like me to test/check/do?
