First edit in Darktable (software) alternative to Lightroom and Capture one. I tried a couple of years ago but wasn't too fond of the GUI at the time. It's still similar but for some reason I can work with it better now. Biggest issue I think, compared to Lightroom especially, is there are SO MANY options and modules but even after just half an hour I am getting the hang of the basics. Output seems superb to Lightroom so far, noise reduction (which got a big overhaul in the latest release just before Christmass 2019) is superb, night and day compared to Lightroom.
Capture one is another I like much better than Lightroom but the €350 has kept me away so far and with the quality and speed of Darktable now, I'm quite sure my editing will be done in Darktable and Affinity Photo from now on.

Do that Galenapass, like I said, takes some getting used to but I think it can be worth it. Great output, lots of tools, nice user interface once you get used to it (I think, two pictures quickly edited now). Open source, free, fast.
This + Affinity Photo seems to be a great combo for me.
