A real beauty Ronny. Focus stacked or f-stop? Would your 90mm macro give similar result?
Tony
Thanks Tony
This is a stacked shot on f2.8
I'm doubtful if the 90 will deliver the same great results but I'll try.. maybe something similar can be achieved if I put MC on the 90mm ? 40-150 is a favorite lens that I use far too rarely.
Hi Tony,
Your photos are always interesting, but this one is special. Please say a few words about how you made the capture. I am particularly interested in how you focused the shot and managed to get the wing position of the birds to align? Thanks
Not much to say about it. They fly so fast it was all I could do to keep them in the frame. Probably used all focus points and 1/3000 sec. with 'spray and pray'. Usually don't get that many in focus, so can only guess that most were nearly in the same focus-plane. Western Sandpipers, I believe.

Thanks Ronny. Last November on my most recent California trip.
I was wondering if spring is coming
we here in southern Sweden are probably a few weeks away
this morning we have 15.8 °F but during the day it will be 41.0 °F
a little warmer next week

We're probably a couple weeks away here Ronny. We had a very long, cold winter but the last few days have been very nice, fifties and sixties Fahrenheit. It'll get colder again before it warms up for Spring. I'm leaving for Florida on Wednesday to pick up a vehicle I bought. Flying down and then driving back, about 1200 miles. I'm planning on making a few stops along the way to try and get in some photography.
