First day out with my new OM-1. I've never experienced subject detect auto focus so I had a blast. It happened to be the first real snowfall of the year too so that made for a nice change of scenery.
A nice surprise I discovered with the 14-140 is the MFD. This little critter is less than two inches long and just a handheld grab shot. Not a true macro lens obviously but should work nicely for butterflies and dragonflies with a bit more discipline I would think.

^^^ I'm looking forward to see what sort of macro shots I can get with the 150-400.
I just ordered the 60 Macro this morning after seeing the price drop. I've seen mixed reviews on that lens. Some claim it's just decent, others say it's excellent. What sold me was Ronny's images. I'm not naive enough to think I can just go out and get those same results but it gives me something to work towards.

Thanks Gary ! It's a nice lens and relatively cheap and very small and neat , I think you will be satisfied
I have see some great semi macro from 150-400
looking forward to your pictures Colin
I'll see if I get the M.Zuiko Digital ED 90mm f/3.5 Macro IS PRO this spring, I haven't decided as I did compare with my 60
Of course it's better and a Pro lens, but I haven't really decided if it's worth that much money... the advantage is that the 90 Pro works with MC as well

Quick snap of my youngest grandson. An American in the true sense of the word. 1/2 Nicaraguan, 1/8 Mohawk Indian, 1/8 Italian, 1/8 Polish, and 1/8 Scottish
2,000 miles away and I miss him dearly.
I paid $250 for this lens. A little gem.

I've also heard people say they find the 100-400 soft You should be an ambassador Great shot and the detail is amazing.
in the early days of the Oly100-400 the general opinion was that it most certainly did produce sharp results closely comparable to the 4/300 BUT not always and no-one could figure out why or how to get those consistent high results.
i tried one too and found the exact same thing happened to me. no idea why or how to get consistency with it.
(thinking back I'd bet it was an IS issue...same as with the 150-400).
anyhoo...i'd bet the OM-1 squeezes better results from the 100-400 than any other camera.
Thanks Ronny.
We're in the midst of winter here at home so not a bug to be found. Instead I'm just messing around with some found stuff I've got laying around my office. I have to say, this combo is absolutely effortless. I love it so far. To be able to simply handhold at 1/15 ss is a blast.

Absolutely amazing work Ronny ! You are the king
I'm being tempted daily to go for some of this better glass like the 40-150 2.8 but this was not supposed to be a big investment My plan was to keep it very simple and inexpensive because I'm already pretty heavy in the Z system. And I know what would happen. Buy better glass, oh, better upgrade to the OM-1. It's never ending and I would like to stop working one day

I understand it was a joke .. it was the same for me as I have my Sony gear and I don't want to get rid of them
Many advantages with FX also
money is a big part when photography is just a hobby for me, I probably never make any money from this
only expenses on photography equipment
I did get Olympus system mostly for macro,
it will be interesting to see your pictures with 60 mm

Well, first shot I'll have at any live critters will be when I go back to California in April so it may be a while
This is all just a hobby for me also. I've shot over 150 weddings and countless seniors but I quit that at least five years ago. So I really have to look hard at what I can justify dollar wise. On the flip side, I don't drink, smoke, gamble, play golf, or anything else really, so that's how I justify it
