This shot is exactly why I bought back into m43, the close focus performance of the 12-40 Pro is hard to match by any other fast normal zoom on the market
Yes, really. I’ve looked at a number of systems and have not found any normal zoom with the combination of excellent close focus performance, overal optical performance, compact size and great build.
Show me an option with top-notch performance at 0.2m MFD and I’ll take a good look, but I will bet money it won’t be anywhere close to the 12-40 Pro in either size or build.

If you think so. All the examples you posted look blurry and terrible to me.

Same thing here. I don't need real macro, but I do close-ups, mostly with regular lens. In fact, I am on fence to sell Leicasonic 45mm/2.8 macro; it sits mostly unused because regular lenses do a fine job without need for specialty lens. It is hard to beat Olympus in ability to focus close.
