Had the opportunity to cover the VISA Championships - ie the US National Championship of Gymnastics and a major determining factor for the Men's and Women's US National Team selection. It was a great event, granted the floor space was kind of small and the shooting locations were somewhat limited but I feel I made the most of it and did what I could.... Here are a selection from the men's and women's competitions. You can also view more images on my site at VISA CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Going to do the D300 + 200-400 combo for fall football, in my wonderful sunlight that I get spoiled with. I figure it saves me from carrying the 70-200 all the time, like I did last year with the 400 2.8. I can almost guarantee I'm going to sell it in December though, and possibly look for a 300 2.8... lol.
OK, when you hold back those last two shots you're just teasing all of us. Each of those deserve top billing. The body positioning and framing are very good. Honestly I have shot Gym in the past and thought I had great stuff, but your shots here are much better than my take ever was.
Great shots, I always like to view the shots of gymnastics. These really are great! I always thought TV events were brighter, but looking here and seeing it on tv, seems really dark, so you handled it great.(My wife and daughter are watching this on tv right now.. daughter gets excited to see gymnasts from her old gym ... WOGA.)
Thanks Steve!! One thing I feel I have accomplished is hitting the right spots in the routine. Doesn't hurt I probably shot around 125k+ shots of gymnastics in the past year.
Thanks Lance, I enjoy covering gymnastics, not sure what it is but it is a lot of fun.
