Last night I fell and landed on some rocks while carrying my tripod with the legs extended. The outer tube on one of the legs is both bent and dented--the inner two tubes are fine. Anyone have suggestions for straightening the tube?
the issue is tolerance. depending on the bends/kinks it may be able to be done. even after a repair it may still bind in the slide or not level because of an ever so slight curve. you have to average the time/repair/cost vs replacement/time/cost.
I did call and they were to return the information in an email. I called yesterday and could not get through to a person, so I sent a follow-up email and haven't heard back.
just get a hold of them by phone. they get hundreds of emails a day. email is not an efficient method of having an important conversation.
when you ordered the part did they give you reference info like an order number. i have always been able to get a hold of someone in the parts dept on the phone.
