Thankyou, I made an RF cam by cutting up a tubular leg from a broken tripod, and used a retaining ring to thicken it up. Lots of fine sanding for the correct thickness. If this were to be used on a full-frame camera, the tube would have to be cut to leave just the portion left in silver to avoid vignetting. The M8 crop factor works out here.
"Vented Hoods" are usually not required on an SLR lens. Inexpensive "Fotodiox" Minolta to M-Mount adapter. total cost, $75 for lens and adapter. As per a 1976 Pop Photo test of 32 50mm lenses, The MC mount Minolta 50/1.4 was the best SLR lens in regard to center sharpness. This works out well for the M8.
