Thank you, Carsten!

I'm sorry Dmitiri, I can't see your shot, my monitor blew it's kitsch fuse

!.. That bar is an exception...a blast from the past so to say. Even people in the area mention it with a smile..
Love the 2nd and 3rd shots btw. 2nd got really nice blue patches in the middle of bright orange...really pleasing to look at.
Our autumn here will kick in some time in december this year, surely...

And the Helimat's beer looks good...can't wait to get out and grab a pint some time soon..

Something small from a local hardware store/pet shop (would explain dogs, wouldn't it?)..
4 (only 3 visible though - didn't have time to circle them. Guy kindly offered to wait until I snap the shots) lovely shiba-ken..

Thank you Luka! Horse shots are magnificent! Love the muted colours and the blue-grey tint of the background.

My 20D is no match for your 5D MkII's dynamic range...
But I will try to counter with autumn theme, though everything is still green and will likely remain so until november-december something..

Yup! So far all of the Rokkor normals I've tested have been. While that's only three I think it may be the case that every Rokkor normal can be depended on to be so.

Thank you guys!
The colours are somewhat fake since everything is still green. It's mainly a mall decoration in preparation for Halloween.

It is really great fun to use the lens. I only wish I had a little better resolving sensor (coming soon hopefully) and a focusing screen. Hence the reason i never ordered Katzeye for 20D...though, I might just do that...

Also thinking about ripping an AF chip off a dead EF lens and sticking it on the 58/1.2 converted mount. Though, I have no clue how it works yet. Don't I need to match focal length?

Luka: Love the hare shot! Do you have those around Karlberg? We got plenty around my mum's place but they are mostly active during early morning hours - about 4-5. The cats we had before used to play with hares - they all sat on a school yard across from the window and every now and again had mad dashes in circles as if they were racing. Great laughs!
Still can't believe they let you get that close!
Respect!!

Thansk Charles, Dmitri!

Dmitri, the shot was taken on "rabbit hill" on Kungsholmen (here). It's completely occupied by rabbits. Rabbits are actually great subjects - they let you know how close you can get by freezing before fleeing. At that point you can take shots with long exposures.

Aah. A tip I completely ignored by advancing closer..
Need to schedule a trip there.. Is it on the same side of the river as Trygg & Hansa and P3?

Btw, there are a lot of rabbits in Solna/Sunbdyberg area, though it can be hard to get to them because of all the infrastructure - roads, roundabouts etc.
Rabbits are supposed to have offspring 3 times a year - February, March and August I belive...can be fun to spot the tiny guys..
Are you familiar with Tanja Askani's work? She got an unreal shot of a baby wabbit..will try to find the link...

Edit: here it is...

Yes, it's on Kungsholmen just next to the Trygg Hansa building. Indeed there are quite huge rabbit populations in Solna. My standard photo walk route is starting from my place (Kungsholms strand) and ending at Vreten where I take the subway to Fridhemsplan

http://peltarion.eu/img/photowalk.jpg

The red route is my standard photo walk.
The green route is one that I've been exploring recently. They are building a lot on that side of Kungsholmen transforming it into a residential area but it is becoming more accessible now.
The blue route is that I take when I choose to walk home from work.

At least 90% of my Stockholm shots have been shot along one of those routes.

How come you are so familiar with that part of Stockholm? Have you lived here?

Hehe, that's a great rabbit shot

I am a "svartskalle" to put it bluntly.. Family is still living in Sweden and not planning to move, but I decided to continue my travels, since my relocation to Sweden coincided with economy collapse of early 90s and didn't quite improve by the time I moved to London..
Still Swedish citizen though..

I my walks in Stockholm would probably be along the blue route - few of my mates are living on Sveavägen and we meet up for drinks every time I am back in Sweden..
That and usually from Centralen to Kungsgatan-Stureplan-Strandvägen-Kungliga slottet-Gamla Stan-Slussen...usually try to vary my walkes..

Last winter was mad...my Kiron's push-pull froze stiff and then camera froze to my hands.. made taking shots a little more of a sport...hahahaha

Didn't actually know that one could walk around Karlberg slott...need to visit at some point!

Well, so am I. I actually grew up in Västerås and moved to Stockholm in '98 to study and later started an engineering company here. After twelve years in Stockholm, I do consider myself a native 'nollåtta'

Yeah, last winter was cool, literally! You could walk on the lake to Solna. It's a pity snow is so uniform and boring for photography.

Anyway, to pretend that we have not gone completely offtopic, here are a couple of Rokkor shots from the dark forests of Solna

Haha, 08 is a state of mind..
And on topic, love the first photo! Reminds somewhat of Russian lens swirly bokeh, does it not? I like the way you put it - "dark forests of Solna"..

Here is something 58/1.2 was mainly aimed at - portraiture:

Thanks and nice portrait

I'm not sure about how swirly the bokeh is - I think it has more to do with the shape of the tree. I'd love to get my hands on a Zeiss Jena Biotar 75/1.5 one day - that's really the master of swirly bokeh :http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=Biotar+75

Edit: There is one for sale on Ebay:

I don't think I'm $1,600 interested in it though

Thank you! It was her birthday party..

You are right, it must be due to the tree shape since it swirls only in top left corner.
Did a quick search in Japan, but no luck. And at this price I also skip this one...perhaps more feasible investment would be Jupiter-9 85/2.0
