Guys, what about the effective focal length?
on APS-C the 58mm becomes 93mm...doesn't that affect the DOF at all?
No. Crop is really crop. It is like you take a full image, open it in Photoshop and cut out the center. That's your cropped image.
When people say that full frame gives you a more narrow DOF, but what they are meaning is a more narrow for the same framing. Since the uncropped image has a wider angle of view, you have to walk closer to your subject to get the same framing as you would with a crop camera. A change of distance to the focal plane changes the DOF and subsequently if the framing is kept constant, focus will be closer and DOF will be narrower.

My new fresh to EOS converted MD Rokkor 1.2/50
Seems to be one of the best (non ashperical) 1.2 lens around
love the 3d effect this lens can produce
I feel strangely attracted to this Ricoh camera. So much so in fact that I am contemplating a purchase. Have anyone had experience with it by any chance?
Even more than CY 35/1.4?...
Great shots btw - autumn coming to Sweden?! It's always beautiful. Why don't you take the Rokkor for a walkie to Djurgården-Strandvägen?
Let me chime in on the theme from the other side of the world.. Though, it's still around 30 centigrade here and everything in full bloom:
Thank you morty!
I generally use Landscape or Portrait in Canon DPP and after that I set white balance.
finally after resizing and sharpening in Photoshop I correct the colours myself until I am satisfied...
I used Nik Viveza before, but it wasn't stable enough so I gradually drifted away from it.
really loved being able to correct certain colours per point in the shot...
Thank you once again..
At the moment I kind of re-work all shots one by one, so it is not that much of a strain..
Btw...looking forward to your Rokkor shots!!
Blasphemy! No, of course not. The 58/1.2 can produce some really cool bokeh but there is no comparing it to the 35/1.4

I suppose so, although it's still in a very early phase. The full colors are not here yet. Autumn is definitely my favorite time of year for photography.
Blas for you, blas for me... (pun)...hah..
well, I am not an owner of 35/1.4 so I can't honestly comment. Though, now Rokkor owns my 20D and pushed CY35-70 on to the shelf....let's say for now..
Thank you for the kind words also.
I really love Swedish autumn - so many cool spots to photograph and just to walk. Strandvägen and Diplomatstaden are fantastic...
Though, the light is scarce and sunsets are early...
