Its another stitch, this time just 3 shots though. Yes, wide open.
Great news on the lens! I love mine, let me know if yours has any wobbles at all. Mine could do with tightening up but I'm a little worried about tampering with it. Both the mount and the focus ring have a tiny amount of play.
tighten those screws! your putting the lens in more danger by letting it wobble.

Thanks Wayne. Hopefully that sad face of his will pay off and he will get adopted! I have been photographing all the dogs at my local shelter in hopes of getting them better "exposure" (pun intended) and have had a great reception so far. All the dogs (but for one) that I shot a week ago were adopted within a few days. This day was so cold and gloomy that I had no good lighting whatsoever to work with. That, combined with only having old Rokkor manual focus lenses to use on the NEX makes shooting these animals quite a workout! Thank goodness for the focus assist thingy (I forget what it's called now) on the NEX!...Show more →
Good on you for doing that for those poor shelter dogs! Breaks my heart as I have a 12 yr. black lab who is my trusty portrait model even though he is very smart and as you raise the camera he will look away or rush to get close to you so that he is within MFD so it is hard to get a good picture of him, especially with MF lenses. I could never leave/abandon my dog to a shelter. Labs are such sensitive, smart dogs, who provide eternal, unwavering love. Hope that lab gets a great new home soon!.
Thanks crazeazn.
It was though to nail the focus of moving objects at f/1.2. Most of the shots was OOF
f2.8-f4 is safer but I still want to enjoy the special f/1.2 look of this lens
Frustrating at first but it was fun. Like a snipper tried to shot the moving target.

Thanks, yes I will. It should arrive the coming days. It should be a clean copy and all that. It's the old version (thorium with slight yellowish glass) and I've read both that these are supposed to be better and worse - and I guess there are sample variations as well. So worst case I guess I need to be a bit lucky to get a good one. A bit worrying but I guess I'll know in the coming week or so :-)
Nice stitch again. Guess you shot the middle one first and then decided to get a little head- and floor-room as well?
Helimat, Lightshow,
Thanks for the comments.I am enjoying the lens and trying to get used to it.I still do not feel that i have been able to unleash its full potential. But i am having fun trying.

Katie,
nice job with both. The look in the little girl's eye in #2 is very nice.
Here are a few that i took today with Rokkor 58 f1.2 @ 1.2 - to me the drawing style in the cat shot screams Rokkor. Also, I am learning the Rokkor is quite a finesse lens.To get this type of flare(in the gate shot) you have to make micro adjustments on the aperture.WO is too much and it takes on a half moon in appearance and is very pronounced.Lock shot was taken with an extension tube WO
