What does a clean 58/1.2 go for these days, and is it possible to change the mount to a Nikon?
$450-$500, probably just change those dollar signs to euro signs for your price in germany.
it depends on what you mean by possible. it's easy to change the mount to nikon, but you'll need to do more than that to focus beyond 3m. i doubt infinity is possible on nikon without mirror issues and you would probably have to turn down certain parts of the lens in a lathe to get there.
this along with lack of IBIS keeps me away from a FF nikon.
Wow, prices are rocketing...hope it's not thanks to this thread..
Last time I picked one up for about 80Gbp...:/
Anyway, it certainly has been a while. Love your photos guys!
Here is my recent contribution from Tokyo/Shinjuku Stn. Was passing through to pick upp CY100-300 Vario...
I think I had very bad luck...bought a Rokkor 58 1.4, mounted in my 20D with a Jim Buchanan's adapter (went fine) but the images are bad...kinda fuzzy, lacks sharpness...BIG lemmon!
congrats on the new lens, this first shot is fantastic!

when buying lenses this old there's bound to be a fair amount of sample variation. the initial production sample variation is compounded by the variance in what each lens has been through in the last 25-50 years. the rokkor 50/1.4 isn't the sharpest 50/1.4 lens out there though, especially wide open. i would say it should be perfectly usable though and should certainly outresolve the 20D sensor at f/5.6 or so.
Thanks. Still scratching my head over whether or not I had a short tube on that one. Funny how little one remembers from just a couple months back.
