Now starting with page 70 we're posting all in just this thread. You're more than welcome to keep the others alive or repost those images here if you'd like also!
I'm not very good but here some to start it off. This is the Auto ROKKOR-PF 55mm f/1.8. I paid $2 for it and another $2 for an almost identical one: Another ROKKOR-PF 55mm f/1.8 but shorter and with a smaller diameter . The short & small one's focus barrel was frozen up and the other had a tiny nick on the front element. So for $4 total and a front element swap I should have a pretty nice lens. I dunno the going rate for this lens on-line. Maybe it's $3 and I got ripped off.
I couldn't wait to swap the front element so here's the shots I took on the way home:
i'm afraid the only normalish rokkor i currently have in my possession is the 45mm f/2. cost $4.50 plus $5 shipping. sadly, i don't have any image up from that lens right now. i do have some from my much missed 50mm f/1.2 though:
Oh my gawd... When I said "I can't wait to see some nice ROKKOR samples from people who actually know how to use them", I honestly had no idea! These are freeeeking excellent Steve Spencer, cogitech, sebboh, and Jim Schemel. Seriously!
Thanks for posting these!
PS: sebboh, I had no idea you were so awesome! Nice work!

that's a bit more wide open than i like to shoot.
Hehe. Yeah, I got the front element swapped over even though one was 1mm smaller in diameter. I tested before and after and there's no detectable difference. I can't seem to un-freeze the helicoid mechanism of the other one tho. It's almost like it's welded together. I soaked it in lacquer thinner for about 10 hours and it hasn't seemed to help at all. The thinner turned green but that's it.
Cheers, just trying to learn to handle "the mustang"...
Post some more shots, will you? The street candids you posted were superb! Love the last one with the cat especially....
Wow Jim... that cat shot is remarkable. Good b&w conversion great lines and textures (and the vignetting really helps this one too). I haven't seen anything like that from your Mamiya lenses... (maybe not surprising because of the focal lengths you use)
