Adam I use photobucket (I know, but I only use that for stuff I post on the world wide web) and it can turn some files into mush and it also will put lines in skies. Sharpness is not to be measured from a 80KB JPG smashed to crap by site like PB. I, like Edward, think it looks fine.

The RF of my M9 was perfectly calibrated and remained so during the entire period I had it, around 18 months. I always keep my lenses at infinity, an old habit, and am just careful not to bump the roller when I mount the lenses. The M240 is not as perfectly calibrated, it tends slightly towards front focusing, and I have not noticed any improvement in the RF mechanism over the M9. If anything, the frame lines are offset to the left and not as accurate. In retrospect, I don't think I have gained anything by getting the M240. I could have easily kept the M9 for another generation but well, I am also happy with the M240 so all is good....Show more →
Edward--
Thanks for your insights on this. Had you any experience with the MM? Any thoughts?
The little one on ABC mouse (with backward underwear). He's so excited to be reading... I on the other hand am attempting to learn French. UGH, it's hard.
Ron, great work! Your shots with the 21mm FL always amaze me
Charlie, love these landscape series! The 50 Lux on the M240, I find so much better, and in particular the B&W conversions. I had the 50 Lux on the M9, and I often reverted to using the 50 Nocti f/1.0 instead. But I am now using the 50 Lux again. The 28 Cron really shines on the M9, but something lacks on the M240!
Kape, very nice!
Cal, I really like the B&W conversions with 50 Lux on the M.
Adam, stunning shot of your wife! Very nice angle and lighting. Sorry to hear about your M calibration drifting. I find this so frustrating. I have no issues with M9/MM or M240 drifting off spec, as it is a mechanical device.... but just the M240 takes 8 to 10 weeks, via Solms. My M9/MM went back to Melbourne about 8 or 9 times each, for recalibration. I would send it Monday, and have it back by Friday... no problems here. For this reason alone, I would keep the M9/MM. Also I find the 28 Cron, lacking character on the M240 as compared to the M9/MM. I don't know why.
Katie, nice capture!!
I finally got a chance to test out the M240 this weekend. I was a little nervous that I wouldn't have the magic that I loved about the M9. If I'm honest the initial test shots kind of scared me. But after a real shoot this weekend, I can say that not only does it have the magic but also a lot of the things I gave up when I switched to the M9 from the D800. At least the things I found important anyway. Well here are my results from around town and a car show.

Adam, your wife is as gorgeous as her Chanel bag. That's a major compliment.
Thanks guys!
Katie - I'll pass the msg along. Her shoe and bag collect is far worse then my Leica collection. Thats why I can have multiple 50mm lenses and still have a happy marriage!

Sounds too familiar Mine too!
These Asian wives are very supportive in what concerns luxury goods spending. In fact my wife convinced me to buy the M 240 because she thought the Sony A7 didn't look good enough on me

My wife bought me the M240 in trade for a Birkin (which I still can't find, new). Maybe I'll have better luck in Europe! Btw anyone here work for or have strong connections to Hermes?
Gary - nice, that's some sky.
Katie - nice shot of the kiddo. Good blackmail photos for when he's dating.
Kpsingh0 - Second ones good and the last one, great composition.
I have always read M9 files take a LOT of editing to get the best out of them. I'm just wondering, is this mostly regarding colour? What if you are a 90% B&W shooter - can you simply make your own custom action to get you most of the way there? Thanks!

It's actually quite the opposite. I rarely PPed my M9 files beyond WB, and some minor exposure and contrast adjustments. B/W is very straightforward, just desturating in ACR was enough for me. It's the CMOS sensor of the M240 that requires more work because of the flat files.
